Positive: July 2025. We spent one night with dinner and breakfast included. The food was very delicious, traditional and in huge quantities (thank you Big Mama, who spoke Russian).🙏 that's the strongest point of the place, at the moment. The rooms are new. The house is being renovated, that's a fact. I believe that will be nice when finished (as on the booking photos 😉, now the patio is slightly different ). The guest house is located very close to the fortress and Chasma complex.

Negative: The renovation started just at 6 a.m.! I understand it's hot and it's good to do the works in the morning, but for me it's too early to wake up.

Positive: Despite our being delayed and coming in late, and then having some difficulty parsing navigation in an unfamiliar city in the dark, we were greeted and checked in without problems and everything matched the descriptions and expectations according to other reviews.

Negative: As other reviewers have noted, the hotel is presently actively expanding, and workers were present pretty early, and we are told by another guest we met at breakfast, they continued working late into the night, until maybe 10pm. (We got in after that.) I don't think this is a safe environment for children right now, and it certainly is not somewhere that makes you want to linger in the courtyard to enjoy a spring evening. I expect it will be better when the expansion is complete, but until then, it is definitely a work zone, and the work is not always quiet.

Positive: The guesthouse is well located to explore the few sites of Nurata. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Food was tasty.

Negative: The majority of the guesthouse is being built or renovated with ongoing construction works which creates a lot of noise and dust and is not conducive of enjoying quiet time in the courtyard or the dining room. We also had small kids running around and screaming in front of our room late at night, and loud music in the room next door occupied by the hosts. The owner was also quite impolite with my mum at some point.

Summary: Comfortable rooms but not very pleasant environment

Positive: We felt at home! Want to experience true local life? This is the right place for you. If you're adaptable and interested in communicating and overcoming language barriers, what awaits you at Ruslan's guest house is not just accommodation, but a whole welcoming, kind, and caring family. A smile and Google Translate are all you need to have fun and meet amazing people. Both dinner and breakfast are delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Ruslan is a knowledgeable host who can offer you experiences in other rural accommodations with different families. You can also buy some embroidered items made by family members!

Negative: Honestly, the other guests were the only real problem… they were complaining about the service, but we found to be appropriate considering the cost. We warn that the house was in reconstruction. It’s cold, therefore, bring warm clothes!
