Positive: Riad dar Kirami is in a perfect location within a quieter, peaceful neighbourhood of the Medina and yet within easy walking distance of Bab Guissa (gate), the main sights and the Souk. Our flight landed during the evening so Abdou kindly arranged for his brother, Mehdi, to collect us from the airport and then walk us to the Riad. He also made a dinner reservation on the terrace of a lovely local restaurant, again arranging for someone to show us the way through the myriad of alleys within the Medina. As 2 women travellers visiting the Medina for the first time, particularly after a long travelling day, this attentive hospitality was very much appreciated by both my daughter and myself as it meant we could familiarise ourselves with the area in the dark and ensured that our first evening was a safe and pleasant experience. The Riad itself is as beautiful as others have described it and, after hot days independently exploring the Medina, we particularly enjoyed the breeze on the rooftop terrace. The Moroccan breakfast is plentiful and delicious. Most notably, Abdou is the perfect host, always on hand to answer any queries and offer genuine helpful recommendations. Thank you Abdou for welcoming us into your home. We wish you and all your family a happy and peaceful Al-Hijra.

Positive: Abdou, our host, was extremely professional. He was always smiling and ready to give us information and advice about everything. The house itself felt like a museum — it had been renovated with great care and attention by Abdou. We felt at home immediately, which is not something you find everywhere. Breakfast was a typical Moroccan breakfast and very enjoyable. For me, the best part was the terrace: beautiful views over the city and plenty of shade, which was perfect because it was very hot. Great value for money — honestly, 11 out of 10.

Negative: The only thing worth mentioning is that the riad had a slight unpleasant smell. However, Fes is a very old city and this seems to be quite common everywhere (you can even notice it in the streets), so it didn’t bother us much. Abdou had done everything he could to improve it. The riad is located on a side street, which we actually liked because it felt authentic and full of locals. Just make sure to follow Abdou’s advice on how to get to the city center (there are two ways), because on the lower street there are many young kids trying to scam tourists by saying that the way is closed just to get your attention . It is also very convenient for getting a taxi if you want to go outside the medina.

Positive: We had an incredible stay at this riad. From the moment we stepped off the busy streets of the Fes Medina, we felt like we’d entered a peaceful sanctuary. The courtyard is stunning with its traditional tile work and fountain.The Riad Manager went above and beyond, welcoming us with mint tea and helping us navigate the winding alleyways. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, and beautifully decorated. Don’t miss the breakfast on the rooftop the views over the city at sunrise are unforgettable. Positive: Having travelled across Morocco for 2 weeks, this was one of the most exceptional riads we stayed at. The owner renovated it with love and respect for historical spirit, so it felt almost like sleeping in a monument, without sacrificing any of the usual comforts. Abdul was super organized and took great care of us throughout the whole stay, recommending activities and places to visit. We were a bit worried about staying so close to the maze of medina alleys, but in the end it was easy to find the accommodation, and it was a great location for the further ventures into the old city.

Positive: A beautiful house. We arrived in this big city and felt the hospitality in this Riad from the first moment. Abdoul took care about us in so many ways. He answers every question you have. He tried to help us in any wish we had. Since he grew up in Fès, he knows every spot and with this kowledge he helps his guests - friendly, patient, charming. The Riad is perfectly placed in the city. A view minutes to walk to the center of the souks, a view minutes to walk to gate Bab Guissa to take a taxi for some view Dirhams.
