Travel Purpose: business

Positive: The property is in the medina, but on a quiet side street. About a 2 minute walk to the main medina shops. There are 3 floors total. Main floor has one bedroom, 2nd floor has 3 bedrooms and the third floor has a terrace with dining table and jacuzzi. On the main floor, there is a very nice kitchen with all of the utensils and pots / plates you would need. Coffee maker, dishwasher, range, refrigerator etc. We made pasta one night with no difficulties. It is very quiet at night. Each bedroom has it's own AC/heater. We used the heater setting since it was winter. They each have a remote to set the temperature. The main entrance room has a propane heater that apparently can be used indoors and works very well to heat up the room. Each bedroom has it's own shower. There is a retractible glass roof in the main entrance room, but we did not use that much. There is a TV in part of the main room with a couch and chairs. As soon as we booked, we were contacted by Sylvie, the owner. She helped coordinate our arrival. She offered us the option of a ride from the airport or train station for 20euros which we decided to take. All communication was done initially through email and subsequently through What'sApp. We arrived by train from Casablanca. We sent her our schedule and found our driver at the station. We couldn't find him initially but he called us through What'sApp and we met him. He took us to meet Abdou, who is the local property manager. He met us and walked us to the property. He gave us the tour when we arrived and paid him for the taxi ride. We also arranged departure taxi ride and paid him for that in advance as well. He was available through What'sApp as well. Sylvie gave us his contact number ahead of time. Both him and Sylvie kept checking on us to see if we needed anything. Abdou also had the maid come by every day to make up the rooms, she even cleaned up our dishes.

Negative: 3 things I think could have made things better: 1. We found out a day or 2 before getting there that there was an extra tax per person that needed to be paid, some type of tourist tax. It was small, I think 2.5 euros per person per night, but it would have been nice to know about that ahead of time to prepare the funds. 2. Jacuzzi took a very long time to heat up, but once we got it heated up it was fine. 3. The main room heater had the gas turned off but Abdou was very helpful to let us know and we got it going very quickly. There is also a moldy water smell from the washer/dryer room, but you can close the door.

Summary: We were a little nervous as there were no reviews on booking.com, but overall had a great experience
