Positive: Beautiful property amazing facilities. Pool area superb. Breakfast was ok. Rooms very well appointed.

Negative: On arrival at check in I was told the restaurant was full. A real shame after a 5 hour drive and the closest town 30 minutes drive away (or a €100 round trip taxi, not guaranteed to be available to return us!) Did stick my head in the restaurant that evening and not even close to being full never did get to the bottom of why they couldn’t accommodate us. And no room service so be warned if you want to eat.

Positive: The location is stunning. Hotel staff lovely. Lots to do at the hotel, Swimming pool, lake, children's play area, walks, free bicycles available. Hotel is in an old Manor House and has been very nicely modernised. The room was very comfortable though on the small side.

Negative: It was great, nothing to complain about at al!

Positive: The concept is very nice - the accommodation in the woods was very peaceful, beds were comfortable, beautiful pool and wildflowers across the grounds. This place is new and has potential to be brilliant but is not there yet.

Negative: This place would be great for a 2 night stay on a sunny weekend. We didn't get off to a good start when we were invited to put our bags, food (for 4 nights) and 5 year old into a self-wheeled trolley and walk (through heavy rain) for 10 minutes to get to our accommodation, with no assistance. This is just not practical. There was only one evening with availability at the restaurant, therefore we brought food, only to find a broken oven in the house. When we reported this we found reception already knew but hadn't told us on check-in - not ok. We had to tell 5 different members of staff about the problem, every time starting from the beginning. Other things: - the onsite shop sold baby food, gazpacho, wine and organic lentils. It's not a mini-market and if you arrive unprepared with hungry children and no food you'll have a problem, as the restaurant doesn't have availability (and is not small-children friendly). - free wifi is only available in the reception - not in the houses. - No daily housekeeping & not enough toilet paper for a 4 night stay - not good enough for expensive accommodation - Kitchen not well-equipped for a longer stay or children that require regular food. No serrated knife, no teaspoons, no coffee mugs, coloured glasses were peeling. Dishwasher incredibly loud. - No TV or electric kettle in the wild house (not a big issue but is listed incorrectly on booking.com) - Lovely outside terrace which would have been perfect for all day drinks and snacks but no available service.

Summary: Disappointed, but a lot of potential.

Negative: drinks and food at the restaurant are expensive and we found it was always booked (saturday and sunday) or closed (monday)! so look in advance

Positive: Everything was great!! Beautiful cabin, we stayed as a family and the kids wanted to stay longer. There are free bikes, so we went for a ride. Swimming pool is also beautiful. Food was very tasty. We will return and next time we’ll stay longer!
