Positive: It is a modern house with a lovely garden. It has plenty of space, an excellent kitchen and is in a quiet location. The fires were very nice, the beds were comfortable and the property is well furnished throughout. It was also easy to park at the property. This property has a lot of potential has a premium holiday venue and I would stay again.

Negative: We were a party of 10 adults. There weren't enough glasses, handtowels and some crockery items for a group of this size. However, we contacted the host and he rectified this very quickly. There were some minor cleanliness issues such as a very dusty chandelier and bulbs out in several lamps and ceiling roses. In addition, there were some sweet wrappers left in a bedroom drawer by a previous guest. Attention to detail, by the host's cleaning team would have removed each of the concerns listed above. Furthermore, the Booking.com description lists four bathrooms, however, there are only three consisting of two en-suite and a main bathroom. There is also a small toilet/cloakroom which appears to have been counted as a bathroom. Because we were a large party this presented logistical problems over the stay.

Summary: It was a very relaxing family break.

Positive: The property is very spacious, looks recently renovated, and felt smart and clean.

Negative: No dishwasher tablets or laundry detergent provided; there were no fans or openable windows in the bathrooms; the twin room has a machine in its wardrobe that started performing a ‘reverse cycle’ a couple of times during the night, the second of which continued from about 3.30am until 4.55am. It sounded like someone was having a very long shower in the wardrobe and was impossible to sleep through.
