And why not stop by Houghten Falls on your way there for a hike past beautiful waterfalls out to the bluffs overlooking Lake Superior. ***Please note that this rental is located at Mission Springs Resort in Ashland, Wisconsin. It is a 3.5 acre property with two one bedroom cottages, 3 two bedroom cottages, and one 4 bedroom house— all nicely spaced out from one another. The property has two private beaches on-site. Each rental has it’s own private outdoor sitting area with a picnic table, fire pit (firewood provided) and charcoal grill. You will be able to see the other cottages from yours and you will be sharing the beaches with the other guests, but you will not be sharing a picnic table, fire pit, or grill with other guests.

Summary: We stayed in Cottage 12. Cute little cottage that served as the perfect base camp for my husband and I and our dog. Very clean. Owners provided yummy cookies, candy and ice cream from local shops which was a delicious surprise. Owners very friendly, helpful, great communication. Both bedrooms had views of the lake. Comfortable beds. Location was close enough to town to be convenient but also felt very remote. Everything we needed for our home base.

Summary: We love Lake Superior and staying in a quiet place by the water. The Mission Springs Resort definitely fit the bill. Before we even got there, Katie, the owner, upgraded us to a larger cabin to better fit our family of five. She also ensured that the lights were on as we were arriving in the dark. The cabin is simple and clean. A great place to relax by the fire pit on a chilly spring day or play games inside. The location is near Ashland which has a great co-op and also Bayfield and the Apostle Islands. Katie recommended Houghton Falls and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend checking out this magical spot! Also hiked to caves at Meyers Beach which was also spectacular! Thanks for the much needed respite Katie!

Summary: We stayed here with our 2 dogs and it was perfect. We stayed during the winter so we were able to run the dogs on the lake and they were free to roam. Good price for the continence.

Summary: Quant cabin near Ashland, right off the lake. A/C and heat. Bonfire pit and picnic table were great and we used them every night! Firewood was provided by the owner (great plus!).
