Positive: Wow wow wow a simply stunning location, beautiful gite, immaculately clean, spacious and beautiful, fluffy and fresh towels, all linen smelt amazing (I appreciate that could sound a little strange, but it really did), not cluttered with ‘stuff’ yet homely and welcoming, everything needed to prepare and eat in, clear information about free wifi and even chatting to ‘Alexa’. Not only is the accommodation beautiful and the quietest holiday I’ve ever had, but Maria and Chris are welcoming, kind, knowledgeable and hospitable - they have an amazing ability to be ‘there’ but never in sight. Their house is very close to the gite, so they are on hand if you need anything BUT we never once felt ‘overlooked’.

Negative: No criticism at all. We just wished that we had found the supermarket in Nexon, rather than the close by Lidl, sooner. Maria and Chris had recommended it, we just went for what was closest - well worth the extra 15mins or so to Nexon (I think it was called Super U)

Summary: Truly beautiful gite in tranquil rural surroundings - simply amazing place to fully switch off.

Positive: Absolutely everything! Chris and Maria have put a lot of thought into their gite and it shows; everything you could need is there for you. The welcome package was very thoughtful and kindly received after a long day of travelling. The property is stunning it truly feels like home. Chris and Maria can’t do enough for you, they are an amazing couple. Reid’s retreat is perfectly situated so you can benefit from both peace and quiet and getting essentials; as your only a 10 min drive from the local supermarket. Walking into the village is only a 15 min stroll with plenty of scenic views to take in. On a clear night the sky is beautifully lit up with stars and the milky way is visible.

Negative: Having to leave and having so say our goodbyes for now to Chris, Maria and Milly

Summary: Tranquil, peaceful and beautiful stay 😌

Positive: The hosts were fantastic. The house, pool and location were amazing and our break was simply wonderful. I would highly recommend Reid’s retreat to anyone looking for a thoroughly relaxing break in a wonderful location with amazing hosts.
