Positive: Location was perfect for visiting family in Oswestry and exploring Ironbridge and the Aqueduct/Viaduct in Chirk and several historic monuments.. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. Instructions left were clear.
Negative: Not a big issue but the patio was covered in needles from the surrounding trees and easily tracked into cottage so could have used a sweep.
Summary: Perfect for short break and very welcoming cosy cottage

Positive: The owners were very helpful and the Cottage well appointed, with everything you might need in the kitchen. It was a very nice touch that the hosts had provided milk, bread, butter, eggs, teabags etc and even a bottle of Prosecco!
Negative: My sister and I are both in our late 60s and we did find the very steep stairs a bit unnerving, especially as the bathroom is downstairs. We had a very poor experience with Sykes Cottages who are the agents, we originally planned to stay for 3 nights Tues-Thurs, but needed to add the Friday at the last minute and were charged a further £333 for the Friday night as it was apparently changeover day and took us into another week!! We did pay it because we wanted to be within walking distance of our family, but I would advise anyone considering booking the property to be very careful as Sykes are impossible to talk to and do not respond to any questions even though our reservation was through Booking.com
Summary: Lovely property, poor experience of Sykes Cottages

Positive: Quite and peaceful, nice surroundings
Negative: It's not a dislike, but having the bathroom downstairs and bedrooms upstairs could be a problem for some people, not advisable if you struggle getting up and down stairs, stairs quite steep.
Summary: Short Stay

Positive: The hosts left a lovely welcome pack, bread jam milk bottle of milk and a bottle of prosecco it was very thoughtful of them. They also left us an Easter egg. There was Coffee Tea and Sugar as well as condiments. dishwasher tablets and also pods for the washing machine and there was every utensil you could ask for. They lived in another building opposite and introduced themselves when we were outside but just to let us know where they were if we needed them we never felt we were being overlooked just left in peace. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The handbook they left was very explicit and never had to ask them about anything.
Negative: They are still doing work on the grounds and intend to add a fence around so anyone with pets can keep them enclosed. I took a dog with me and that would have been good then wouldn't have to keep an eye on him outside but the weather was nice so it wasn't a problem.
Summary: Relaxing and comfortable with great facilities

Positive: lovely and quiet village, perfect size for two, clean and well presented.
Negative: lol, the practically vertical stairs up to bed. completely understandable in the cottage as it’s a conversion from another era, but do bear it in mind if any mobility issues. everything else compensated for this however and would definitely recommend.
Summary: Beautiful quaint and peaceful property, with lovely surroundings as part of the courtyard.
