Positive: The location was perfect for us—secluded, quiet, and absolutely stunning. The views, the grounds, and the overall topology were fantastic. We stayed in a spacious room with two beds that received plenty of natural light. Facing the ocean, we enjoyed beautiful views and morning sunshine every day. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the room was equipped with a fridge.

Negative: The resort itself is in dire need of attention. There’s no spa, the menu is outdated, and the breakfast feels like it’s barely holding on. While the staff are pleasant, their service is minimal. For example, when we asked for two room keys at check-in, we were told it wasn’t possible, even though the room was clearly meant for two guests. The food is grossly overpriced for its quality, and the bar staff couldn’t even make a decent piña colada. To add to the disappointment, the beach gazebo was being used as a towel station. Some parts of the resort felt eerie—empty, outdated, and lifeless. It didn’t feel like a true resort, especially since we had to leave the premises to find decent meals, coffee, cocktails, or even a massage. We kept discussing how much potential this place has. With some love, an updated menu, and improved service quality, it could truly shine. As it stands, management seems indifferent to the issues guests repeatedly point out in reviews, leaving the impression that no one cares about the resort’s future. Despite this, we agreed we might return but would come prepared—bringing our own snacks, drinks, and other essentials. The issues aren’t the staff’s fault; it’s clear that the responsibility lies with management to address these concerns and invest in revitalizing the resort.

The resort, which has been around for some time, is well-maintained by its attentive staff and exudes a charming, colonial-inspired ambiance. Its sprawling layout features a variety of spaces to relax and explore, offering a sense of history and character rarely found in modern establishments. Upon our arrival on Christmas Eve, we were struck by how quiet the resort was—it almost felt as though we had the entire place to ourselves. Nestled beyond a small mountain range, the location feels wonderfully secluded, making the first few days of our stay feel more like a tranquil retreat than a bustling holiday resort. The staff were a highlight throughout, consistently warm and eager to help. They made booking excursions and offering local tips effortless. One of our favorite experiences was a boat trip to the idyllic island of Ko Samet, departing conveniently from the resort’s own pier. Another highlight was the resort’s private-feeling beach, which provided a serene backdrop for relaxation. For nature enthusiasts, we highly recommend a visit to the nearby Khao Laem Samet National Park—a true escape into Thailand’s natural beauty. While the resort had much to offer, we did find the food and beverage prices to be on the higher side. The inconsistency in pricing—such as a pizza costing more at dinner than at lunch—was particularly noticeable. That said, the breakfast buffet was outstanding, with a variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day. For other meals, we often opted to dine at local restaurants, and we’d like to give a special mention to Yummay Pizza, where we enjoyed authentic Italian flavors served by a wonderful team.

Positive: The hotel is set in a beautiful setting but about 1km down a long drive and a 300 Baht taxi ride from town. Service was exceptional - friendly, professional and helpful. The hotel was quite quiet when we stayed which made access to all the facilities easy.

Negative: The air conditioning whilst efficient was quite noisy - we turned it off at night - and really needs to be updated.

Summary: By far the best hotel in the area - beautiful a setting but remote from other restaurants, bars etc.
