Positive: the bedrooms were comfortable, and a good mix of numbers of beds in each room. The house was generally clean, although there was a roasting tin that was very dirty. The location was quiet and about 10 -15 mins from Ponds Forge swimming pool.

Negative: The kitchen was very small and not well equipped. We had to buy cleaning products and tea towels for the first night, and there were only 3 forks. We raised these with the agent and they provided them the following day. The lounge area was small. We were only a group of 8 people whilst the house capacity was something like 14 which would have been too many to sit together to eat and watch TV. 8 people felt tight. The kitchen didn't have much equipment in it for cooking, eg no serving spoon and the downstairs loo light didn't work and didn't lock (the lock was installed back to front!)

Summary: Cramped with 8 people

Positive: Having a kitchen and dining table. Clean and plenty of choice for beds, singles and doubles. Having bathrooms upstairs and down to service the bedrooms upstairs and down was good.

Negative: Too many emails, asking for arrival time, leaving time, who was in the group, what was the reason for the stay etc. Having to ring to get key details with a list of 4 numbers to work through. Wasnt aware £200 would be taken on booking for damage but slow returning it. I was using Booking.com to book a hotel so all this interogation and deposit came as a surprise. Now wondering why this Frank and honest review is being bounced.

Summary: it gave us what we needed but too much hassle to bother again

Positive: The rooms were clean and tidy. Nice location, right on top of a hill.

Negative: Back garden was useless. No front gate to the property. I complained about a broken sofa leg, but instead of the compensation they charged me £50 as I mentioned it only on the checkout day (stayed there for a weekend only)
