Positive: The pool is rather small but this keeps the water warm, which I liked. Camila's dedicated attention was appreciated, in contrast to a team under-qualified in hospitality. Breakfast options were OK once we learned there were a few more things we could order, but coffee was...unworthy of being called coffee. And you need to walk 10-15 blocks for the first decent alternative ("Los Duendes")

Negative: Again, not a good fit for us, for a few reasons: - LOCATION: the hotel is roughly 15 blocks from the edge of the city (and thus most shops, restaurants, etc.), which is not a distance you want to walk every day. Taxi services are sparse and costly (round trip downtown amounts to 20% of the nightly room cost), buses are available but hard to figure out. The disclaimer being: if you travel with (or rent) a car, you may actually appreciate being away from the crowds. - NO FOOD: You can have food delivered (most options are rather basic) and of course fix yourself a meal in the apartment's kitchen (there's a very good supermarket nearby), but including a dinner option would've made our stay much more enjoyable. - NO PRIVACY: We stayed in one of the "apartments" at ground level. The entrance (and only door your can lock from the outside) is a two-pane window overlooking the road (and the beach on the other side of the road, which you can't access directly as there's a waterway in between). Everyone else walking to to their room (on the grass, as there isn't really a road) will be able to look in. On the opposite side, you have the pool, so you're exposed to whatever's happening there, if you want natural light. - NO 24-hr FRONT DESK: There's a number you can text. One of our messages -about one of the hotel's pets having gotten into our room- remained unanswered, as did our first message about the sewer-like smell in the room. We had to wait until breakfast to find someone who would try to solve the issues (the pet did leave on its own). But also: - THE SMELL: 5-6 nights in, a sewer-like smell seemed to be taking over the room. The next day we were offered to switch rooms -which we did- and new guests were welcomed into the room we left, with the problem still unsolved. The new room wasn't smell-free either. - ONLY ONE USABLE ELECTRICAL OUTLET for every appliance that comes WITH the room!!
