Positive: The location was fantastic, in the heart of this historic market town. The Co-Op and banks are 50m away and despite being central it was quiet. Facilities in the property and cleanliness were good and the rooms of a larger than expected size. Communication with the owner was excellent and questions were answered quickly. All in all the perfect place for our needs on this particular trip.

Negative: Nothing. It worked for us. For some the lack of parking at the property may be an issue, but you could leave the car at home and pop up by train. The station is a 10 minute walk away.

Summary: A perfect location for a few days in this lovely town.

Positive: Good size bedrooms. Friendly host who was quick to respond to issues. Handy for town - central location and easy parking nearby.

Negative: One of the beds was missing the support which keeps the mattress up, so it was unusable for the first night. We sorted it out the next day but as it was only a two-night stay it did affect our overall impression. The fridge was not very clean and the bathroom could do with redecorating.

Summary: Good overall but would have been improved by having all three beds functioning for both nights!

Positive: Nice big bedrooms. Cosy once we got it up to heat. Good location. Owner kindly agreed to an 11am checkout as we had a late night on the Saturday.

Negative: Parking situation is bonkers. Not easy to do overnight parking. Involves a nightly trip to the car park to pay for the next day. Maybe there was an easier way to do it but we couldn’t find it. Took ages to get the house up to heat. Not enough mirrors (we were there for a wedding so we’re getting dressed up) and the one attached mirror is placed too high for an average sized female like me.

Summary: Really nice, cosy cottage which is great value for money (three good doubles) but overnight parking an issue.

Positive: Clean, comfortable and right in the town centre. No problem parking nearby. Just right for us!

Negative: The only complaint is that the front door key didn't work faultlessly. I needed to get it just right to open the lock. Must be a simple fix to get a good key for the lock.
