Positive: My partner and I stayed a few days at Quinta Vista do Vale last September, and absolutely fell in love. We knew then that it would be the perfect place to return for our family vacation, so we booked as soon as we could. We brought our 2 boys (age 15 and 17) this time, and stayed 3 nights before heading off to Italy and Spain. The property is absolutely gorgeous, and the hosts are so very welcoming and charming. They have mastered the art of respecting your privacy while being attentive and available if you need anything. We were able to spend a little bit of time with them, and upon request, they gave us a tour of the property. I recommend requesting a tour if they are available, as there are some very unique and interesting things on the property. Natalia, Jurgen, and Marcel are the most lovely people to talk with, and they take pride in their establishment, as they rightfully should. The accommodations are comfortable, and the views are breathtaking. There is a fully functional kitchen included, a bathroom with a shower (no tub), a common room with television and fireplace, and 2 separate, spacious bedrooms. They have WiFi with a good connection, and I believe there's satellite TV or similar, but we never even considered turning on the television, so I can't be certain. Walking around the property and enjoying the garden and pool were plenty enough for relaxing entertainment. Even our teenaged boys didn't have their faces planted in their phones, so that alone is an indication of how much there is to appreciate.

Negative: There was a severe drought this year, so we weren't able to hike the trail to Pena Quebrada, and weren't able to use the grill. They are very serious about forest fires in Portugal.
