Positive: Very good location, not far from the town. The quinta is very nice old house. Comfortable. Elisabete is a very nice host. We fel like at home.

Negative: Nothing negative, but be aware - Googlemaps give another Quinta do Fojo in the area. Please follow the driving instructions sent by Elisabete.

Positive: Location, breakfast, pool, and owner were excellent! We wished we could stay longer and enjoy the house and grounds more! We also took the wine tasting and that was lovely as well! We will be booking here when we return to the Douro Valley! We followed Elisabete's recommendations to beat the heat (visit Pinhao in the morning, Lamego in the afternoon for a slightly cooler locale).

Negative: The bedrooms didn't have A/C (which is only an issue during unpredictable heat waves), but the owner is working to install it as soon as she can without disruptions to currently booked guests (check with the owner for updates). Overall, it was a minor inconvenience for us and will not deter us from returning (with or without A/C). This place is that good!

Positive: Elisabete was an incredible host. During our whole stay, my boyfriend and I felt so welcomed and taken care of. It was obvious her heart was truly in it. She always went out of her way for us, like when I woke up early and she made me a coffee before normal breakfast hours (the included breakfast is delicious, by the way). Beautiful house inside and out. The inside was well maintained and had all the modern appliances you would want, while still maintaining the rustic aesthetic of the house. The interior was also very stylishly decorated, with art on the walls, family photos, colourful trinkets and small touches that really make the place special. The view was amazing from anywhere outside. Think rose bushes and plum trees all over. The pool was especially great and has a fantastic sunset view over the mountains. We felt so safe and relaxed here. It felt like having a serene little corner of the world all to ourselves. It is really so special. I cannot recommend staying here enough!

Their warmth and hospitality truly set the tone for our entire trip to Portugal. The 19th-century house is full of charm and character, impeccably clean, and radiates a beautiful atmosphere. And the breakfast – simply divine! It featured local products from small producers, making every bite fresh and delicious. Positive: The breakfast was amazing! The fresh fruit and cheeses and homemade jams and bread and pastries were so delicious and beautifully presented. This place was magical and the host was outstanding! Loved everything about our stay. Only problem is that we should have stayed longer; 2 nights is not enough!
