Positive: The property is old and interesting with period furniture.The bed was comfortable and the room was large.

Negative: Air conditioning was so not working. No fridge in room but provided eventually. Large number of mosquito in our room.The pool area is a bit scruffy and sunbeds in need of replacement. A large alsation is allowed to wander freely. Although we'll behaved I do not want a dog defecating on the grass round the pool where people lie down. Not cleared up by staff. We left early because of the lack of air conditioning and they did give us a refund. Interesting for a night but I wouldn't stay there again.

Summary: Could do better.

Positive: This is an amazing historic building, and we enjoyed the atmosphere, antiques, and period furniture throughout. In fact, if there was a category for character, we would give it a solid 10. Our room was very comfortable, with a great view over the pool and the valley beyond. The bed was super comfy! The restaurant was first class; delicious food, wine, and good service.

Negative: We have to mention that there were problems with the heating and electrical while we were there, which made our stay less comfortable than it would have been. However, the staff did as much as they could to make the best of the situation and we appreciate all their efforts.

Positive: It's a beautiful manor house with fabulous grounds and gardens. The restaurant and bar are monumental, and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. The staff are lovely, and the prices are very reasonable.

Negative: the room could use a little bit of an upgrade and a more comfortable bed
