Positive: The location was lovely, quiet road by the river, easy to the explore the valley from here with a car, although roads very narrow and steep in places. Great experience staying in an old stone house with modern kitchen and bathroom. Would have been great to sit on covered deck in the sun if the weather had been warmer. Francisca very welcoming and helpful with suggestions of places to go.

Summary: Felt like we really got a feel for life in the valley. Would highly recommend

Positive: Thoughtfulness of host who even organised items for our initial breakfasts. Parking was easy. Everything that was needed was to hand.

Negative: It is extremely difficult to find the location and so we advise getting very clear directions from the host in advance of turning up which will prove invaluable. Under no circumstances is it necessary to travel on any unmade, unsurfaced roads. Your host, we feel sure, will oblige you with best route and ideally find the place before dark. Please note that there are quite a few very steep steps up into the property which we managed but which would be challenging to the mobility impaired. However, once settled in everthing was hunkdoray.

Positive: Just an amazing out of town, overlooking the vineyards and hills “chalet”. The property sits across from a small river that rambles, contributing to the great views. It is also exceedingly private, though just up the windy road is a cute little market with a little bit of everything. It is in the heart of the Quinta’s, making winery visits easy, as well as access to Pinhão and Lamego.

Negative: I would think that being in wine country, there would have been some decent wine glasses and the kitchen could have had a few more utensils. It was such a lovely place that we cooked in 2 of the 3 nights and there was only one kitchen knife. Would also think a bit better grill. But that said, I also understand not everyone treats rentals, as their own so owners are careful about including too much and too nice things.

Summary: A wonderful experience, would love to spend a month here just soaking in all it and the location have to offer.

Positive: Absolutely beautiful and relaxing setting. Couldn’t be more perfect for a 5 night holiday to rest and recover. We did 3 nights of the hosts ‘room service’ dinners - the meals were so delicious. Highly highly recommend.

Positive: The location was beautiful! You need your own car to get there (which we had), which meant that the serene valley view was without a lot of other tourists and so many places a scenic drive away. We also had a meal cooked by the hosts on our first night, which was delicious, and enjoying it on the stone patio overlooking the valley was something we will always remember. Thank you Quinta de Raciao.
