Beautiful lake house on lake Martin. 4 bedroom 4 bath sleeps 12. Large outdoor porch with fireplace, bed swing, seating areas and tv. Outside and inside dining areas. Boat house with upstairs deck and seating. Beautiful kitchen with gas stove and large kitchen island with chairs to enjoy cooking with chatting with your family and friends. Minutes from local restaurants such as niffers, poplar dawgs, Oscar’s, etc. Stillwater’s golf course nearby with restaurant as well. Lake Martin pizza company, dollar general, local market and gas stations. Beautiful deer are seen a lot as we keep deer corn in our feeder.

Summary: The house is beautiful. The back porch is the best feature. We spent the majority of our time there. It’s close to a boat launch (hwy 34 launch) and has plenty of parking on site. The house is at the very end of a canal so the water is fairly dirty and stagnant in that area so swimming wasn’t great. The boat house and lift was a nice feature. There were other boats parked close which made it a little tough for you to get your boat in and out but not impossible. The outdoor furniture on the boat house and in the yard was mostly rotten so we could not use that. But the back porch made up for that with the covered area and fans. I did not like that people left their condiments/perishables and frozen food in the rental. We made sure to remove our items when we left. There is no outdoor garbage bin. We had to take each individual kitchen bag to the dumpsters which required driving. Other than that the property is great! Quiet neighborhood. Good location on the lake. We enjoyed it!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay. The house had everything you could ask for a great weekend on the lake. The neighbors were so kind to my kids and asked if we wanted to borrow their canoe and life jackets. Another neighbor taught my youngest how to use a stand up paddle board. We will be back!

Summary: Beautiful spot on the lake and friendly neighbors. A few suggestions to improve future stays. This is a gated community and we weren’t given the gate code prior to check in. We were only given the door access code. There is no cell service in the area so we had to drive until we were able to send an email to the owner and had to wait for the gate code. We also tried to call the owner’s contact phone number, the voice mail was full and we were unable leave a message. This ended up taking valuable time away from our vacation and could have been avoided with better communication from the owner. There wasn’t a hair dryer in the house, no trash cans in the bathrooms, no pillows on some of the bunk beds, no wine glasses or a wine bottle opener. We rented this house because of the no pet policy as we have family members with pet allergies. We then found a lot of short black dog hair on the white master bed comforter. The upstairs towels still had price tags on them which means that none these items had been laundered. The dishwasher didn’t work properly. The refrigerator had not been cleaned out and still had opened and perishable items left from previous guests, to include leftovers in storage bags. The coffee maker had used coffee grounds in the filter and a dirty pot. It definitely made us question the housekeeping standards of the home. The lounge chairs at the dock were rotted and broken. We decided to make the best of it and enjoyed rare time away with our family.
