A beautiful period home in a small country town - the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. Located just 1.5 hours from Melbourne, Harcourt is a short drive from Castlemaine and only 30 mins from Bendigo, an ideal spot to explore the Goldfields. We are happy to accommodate children and pets, however please read the full property description to ensure it is suitable for your situation.
We have two spacious bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the master with a king bed and a TV. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower and features beautiful leadlight art made by the owners. The kitchen is fully-equipped with a dishwasher and some pantry basics. The living space features a double-sided, wood-burning fireplace ($10 daily charge if using firewood) and split-system air conditioner. There is no Wi-Fi provided, however reception for all of the main mobile providers is good.
The home is on a large country block with two alpacas. The property is fully fenced, however If you are bringing your dog please ensure they are kept under control and pose no threat to the local livestock. The entertaining space to the rear of the property is an enclosed yard and also has long lines available for dogs if needed. Dogs are allowed inside, however they will need to be kept on the hard floors and not in the bedrooms or on the furniture.
The base nightly rate is for one person or a couple using one bedroom. If you need the use of both bedrooms please book for three people.
Children are welcome however please note this is a rural property so there is both adventure and possible risks for children. Specific known risks:
- No child protection screens available to be placed in front of the fireplaces when in use
- The creek running through the property is not fenced and can have deep water and weeds / other plant material present
- Cleaning products are in the cupboard under kitchen sink and on shelves in the laundry
- Power sockets in living and bedroom areas (all protected by RCD’s at mains)
- Alpacas are timid around humans however children should be supervised whilst in the paddocks
- Rodents, snakes, reptiles and other wildlife may be present on the property
