Positive: Very nice tented accommodation. Nice dinner and breakfast. Good location with no other camps in sight.

Negative: 4WD ride to the camp was pretty expensive at 20 OMR return.

Positive: We liked general concept of spending night at the desert. Dinner and breakfast were good. There was a guy looking after us and he was very nice.

Negative: We didn't like extra charge of 20 OMR for shuttle from meeting point up to the camp (around 20 min ride but only last bit on dunes). There was only one car serving as shuttle for few camps around so we had to share ride with other guests to avoid waiting for our turn. Information about extra charge was communicated via messaging system of booking.com , in my opinion it would be fair to include this in the price of booking (for transparency reasons) and to be honest, 20 OMR for return shuttle is too much. Also, night in desert is cold and there is no heating system in the tent, if we would not have our winter clothes we brought from Europe we would probably freeze to the bone..

Summary: Nice experience overall but way overpriced with hidden cost.

Positive: This campsite is amazing. In a quiet part of the desert not surrounded by neighbouring camps. The most warm and hospitable host Emaad did everything to make us feel at home and welcome. He cooked us a great dinner and breakfast and was indispensable for the overall top notch experience. The transfer to the camp by a driver in a 4x4 was prebooked and hassle free. It is not recommended to drive to the camp yourself, not even in a Land Cruiser, since getting lost is easy and crossing the many sand dunes without experience or the necessary skills will get you in trouble soon. Highly recommended to spend at least one night here under the stars.

Negative: Nothing. Perfect!

Summary: Probably the best campsite in the Oman desert.

Positive: Had an amazing experience staying in this Bedouin camp in the desert. It is so peaceful! Like going back in time to simpler, less busy times. Imad the camp manager was also amazing. He is such a nice person and he cooks up such fantastic food!

Negative: The only downside is there is no hot water for showering but that is to be expected in a desert camp that isn’t connected to mains electricity. Having said that, the showers were refreshing and never actually freezing! Also it’s a little bit on the pricy side.

Summary: Loved every minute I stayed here and would definitely return. Highly recommended!

Positive: Emmad was the star of the whole experience, he treated us like royals and made what it would have been a great stay a very special one. We had a lovely stroll in the desert for the sunset and another to admire the sunrise. The tent was great and considering one is in the middle of nowhere nothing was missing.

Negative: Being escorted to the camp should be compulsory or included in the price. Giving the choice to find it or following another car and self drive is suicidal.

Positive: 25 minute drive into the desert to get to queen desert camp. cannot be more remote and tranquil than that. you are welcomed in a local tent for tea-coffee and dates. The staff is wonderful and attending to your every need. We had the camp to ourselves that night and opted for a romantic candlelight dinner away from their main restaurant tent.

Negative: the 4WD pick up is not included in the price. Prepare 20 OMR extra if you don't have a 4WD, which is more than half of the accommodation's price.

Positive: This was a great way to get a bit deeper into the dune sea and enjoy a world away from the usual urban hustle-bustle. There was only one other couple there on the night I stayed. The food was great and watching the sunset over the dunes was spectacular. They also arranged a camel ride at the closer-in camp, and this was also a new experience that I was looking to have while in the desert.

Negative: While the staff were perfect in every way, they were from Bangladesh, so I feel like I might have missed out on a little of a more local Omani/Bedu experience.
