Positive: You get the entire place by yourself in a colonial house - bedroom, private bathroom and kitchen, a rare gem in Rio de Janeiro. Location is at the local Gavea neighbourhood, very near to the botanical gardens and walkable to Leblon beach. Sonia and her sister were the most welcoming pair, always greeting us and making sure we are comfortable, they even got us mosquito repellent during our stay. Highly recommended for a private, truly local Brazilian experience.

Positive: I fully enjoyed staying at this property, The location was brilliant,.and very safe area, so you can walk out at night with no trouble. Not too far from beach, nearby Tijuca Forest, Botanical gardens and has plenty of decent bars and shops and shopping centres nearby. Also theres decent transport links from Gavea to Central Rio. The lady was very nice and helpful. She left some refreshments in the fridge for me, and I had use of a kitchen with a stove, microwave and fridge. And the room had 3 beds which was nice and a TV, and have use of a shower which is nice. Fully enjoyed my stay and I look forward to staying here again when I'm next in Rio.

Negative: Nothing to complain about.

Positive: Great working wifi. Had warm water for shower. Had filtered drinking water. The owner gave us some food and drinks to consume. The owner was only a text away for any questions or requests.

Negative: Walls, counters, desk, and floors aren't clean. The bathroom is always wet, and the hand towel doesn't dry. Shower water leaks a bit outside of shower stall, which makes the floor wet in the bathroom. One of the pillowcase smelled like smoke and sweat.
