Positive: The property itself was absolutely beautiful in the grounds of a temple overlooking rice fields. It’s a huge property with two pools, lots of areas to sit and read and work. Really idyllic, relaxing location to enjoy some peace away from the city and the staff were so lovely, helping us book bicycles, transport, providing us with refreshments and always smiling.

Negative: Surprisingly, unlike the almost perfect property and service, my boyfriend and I both agreed that the food we ate was unfortunately some of the worst we’ve had in Indonesia, which does not match up to its resort setting. It was just very very bland and as the hotel is in a village it’s really difficult to find other places to eat within walking distance. I would also say that Yoga is advertised on the website but you have to book that in advance and was not available when we were there. We also booked two massages and although they were nice, and again the ladies were lovely, there wasn’t enough pressure and it was done in our bedroom on the bed, which made it painful on the neck after an hour. They also only offer the Balinese massage, there aren’t options which you would usually expect to find at a spa resort. All this being said we did have a great time, it was a beautiful place and close to some beautiful temples but the things that I mentioned let it down somewhat.

Positive: Remote resort, where rooms a scattered over a authentic Balinese village amidst the ‘Sawah’ (rice terraces). Very safe vibe, beautiful rooms and gorgeous nights on the porch listening to all the Balinese evening sounds. Frogs, tokeh, cikcak and on the background a bit of traffic noise from the main road a few kilometers away. We enjoyed the peacefulness a lot. Restaurant is good as usual the breakfast. Rooms are spacious and have a nice romantic canopy bed with mosquito net. Airconditioning works great. From your veranda you can stroll through the rice fields. In an adjacent forest plot there is an natural water source and temple used for spiritual cleansing. Short walk. Overall peaceful and spiritual place. Bring a good book and the pool and surroundings do the rest. Lot of things are offered on this resort. Cooking classes, massages, spiritual cleansing, Balinese marriage. 2-3 nights will do as it is quite remote

Positive: We were super fortunate to have the whole of the lower grounds to ourselves. The pool was refreshing, the views stunning, with beautiful ceremonial grounds at the end of the path. The sounds of frogs and other wildlife was a bonus at night time. And the staff always smiley and friendly, and willing to help! We would definitely return to stay here. The location is in a traditional Balinese village, and away from the crowds that are overtaking the peace in the south.

Negative: We were disappointed with the lack of vegetarian options at the restaurant. And we were charged the same price for meals without the meat and egg which was disappointing. However the staff did try their best to make meals satisfying for us, and for that we are grateful. I was also sad to see cows tied up all day every day at the top of our bungalow grounds, even though I know this is life for them in Bali.. It still upset me to see it.

Positive: Simply exceptional! It’s a very pity that the photos can’t show the actual atmosphere… We were incredibly surprised about the place. Amazing pool surrounded by an amazing garden. A lot of employees and all incredibly kind. Room and restaurant were fantastic!

Positive: Everything was really great. The staff were attentive, kind and helpful. The layout of the hotel is wonderful. The surroundings are picturesque and peaceful. It was quiet, private and absolutely beautiful. Waking up to the rice fields and the rich history was a delightful start to the day. The room we had was amazing, with an outdoor bathroom and an indoor toilet, a large room with an amazing intricate wooden roof. Tile floors and a day bed, with an outdoor area, there was definitely a comfortable amount of space for my children and I.

Negative: There wasn't much that I didn't like. The menu at the restaurant is limited but good, it's the only place close by to eat unless you go into town, which is an okay walk if you take an umbrella on a hot day, or walk when it's overcast. Be careful along the main road, but otherwise it's a lovely walk along the rice fields up until the main road. Theres no grab in the area yet so keep that in mind, yet Donny the manager, helped me to the local Clandys when I needed to get a charger port.
