Positive: Perfect location for exploring Mt Cook and the surrounding area. Close enough to Twizel to restock on supplies or go out for dinner but giving the perfect wilderness experience. Super comfortable beds, great shower, good cooking facilities, warm (we stayed during winter) and perfect for a family getaway. Loved it.

Negative: Ever so slight chlorine smell when we first arrived.

Positive: Brilliant location, quiet, lots of space, well appointed & awesome lake views. In addition, it was handy to Twizel for shopping & not too far to Tekapo for dinner or a visit and of course a beautiful drive into Mt Cook Village. We stopped by the airport & took a helicopter flight!

Negative: Some curtains missing in the smaller bedrooms. The location was private, but you don't want to be thinking about it. Although we thoroughly enjoyed the cottage the picture shown by Books.com was of the house next door which I feel is misleading.

Summary: A beautiful place to stay if visiting Mt Cook. Highly recommend it!

Positive: Views are unmatched, cottage was lovely to stay in. Each room had a radiator heater and the living room a split system, the bathroom had underfloor heating and a heated towel rail as well as a gas heater wall fan. Exceptionally cosy place to stay. All the grounds were incredibly cared for. Would recommend this stay to absolutely everyone.

Negative: There was some long hair left in the bath, as well as the shower drain wouldn’t drain, so I had to pop the tile drain cover off and it was matted with hair. Didn’t affect our stay at all but a small detail gone missed by the cleaning staff. You are maybe 10 metres away from the house / cottage and other guests so the night sky depends on your neighbours turning the outside lights off when they go to bed.

Summary: Could sit for hours looking at the amazing views, perfect spot for a couples retreat.
