Positive: Beautiful and cozy room. Perfect location. Walking distance to the tour launch for the mosquito bay kayak tour. directly across the street from a beautiful beach. very homey and a wonderful and kind staff.

Negative: they could let me teleport there from ohio as needed.

Positive: We had a good check-in process, and Kate waited to check us in and walked us through the different facilities at Puertas, such as the communal veranda and the honor bar (alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available). The room was beautifully decorated and it felt like a tropical paradise (but only during the day before the bar across the street blast their music, ruining the whole stay experience). The coffee provided was delicious, and the morning breakfast was great too. We really liked the banana bread and scones that were given as part of the breakfast, and the yogurt appears to be homemade. The breakfast comes in a cute picnic basket, which was adorable. We wished that a stay in Puertas would also garner other perks given the price we paid for the two nights we were there. For example, we wished that our stay could also include a discounted meal at their sister restaurant, which is located downstairs or a complementary transportation to and from the ferry or airport. However, the cost could be driven by the fact that it was peak tourist season since Esperanza was crawling with tourists that wekened since it was a public holiday weekend.

Negative: Do not underestimate other reviewers when they talk about the noise. It's really bad! The bar across from the hotel would blast music from 11 pm to 2 am during our stay here. It was so loud that it vibrated the door and windows. We were also on the side that faced the bar, so we took the brunt of the noise. The hotel did provide earplugs, but it was enough to dampen the noise. Not a great place to stay if you are there during the weekends.

Positive: Great location. Good restaurant below. Lovely outdoor area. Comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Based on my limited knowledge, this seemed to be the best spot on the beach. Truly incredible stay here.

Negative: I would’ve liked a more local breakfast option, but it did the trick and was part of the price. No real complaints here, just a missed opportunity.
