Summary: I absolutely loved the staff at this hotel. My AC wasn’t working in my first room on arrival, but they changed my room and gave me an upgraded room/suite. Things may not always go right, but they corrected it immediately. I look out for these little things. Thanks to the entire team here.

Summary: A nice hotel, and seemed like a good location. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was very good. This hotel has a very nice gym and rooftop pool & bar. However, the room could do with some modernisation and certainly some maintenance. The fitures in the bathroom were all loose; the shower was not great and the shower door did nothing to stop the bathroom floor from getting soaked. The AC unit seemed to be occasionally spewing bits of dirt out and then stopped during the night, making the room unbearably hot. Some of the plugs didnt work, and wwee a bit old-fashioned- i would expext a hotel of this supposed quality to have USB charging sockets. If we'd been staying longer I would definitely have asked to move rooms. It is a pity the condition was so run down as the rest of the hotel seemed nice and the staff were very welcoming.

Summary: The hotel is old and under disrepair. My shower head snapped off and sprayed my Afro with a gush of water. The restaurants are hot and it seems like they don’t have a solution for the heat! The facility has very loud parties. Obnoxiously loud events lasting until late

Summary: This was my second time staying at Protea. It's a very clean and nice hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet at night for some good rest. The only issue I had was with the breakfast. I told the staff person I would pay at checkout and within five minutes of me getting to my room she's calling me saying the system was down and if she could come and collect the payment at that time. I thought that was in poor taste because I still could've paid at checkout some four hours later. When I asked at the front desk if the systems were back up the person looked at me surprised and said oh yes, and I asked how long were they down, and she said oh just like an hour. I just don't believe that whole story. I think the lady at the breakfast area, wanted to get the payment thinking I would skip out on the bill, even though she asked me if I wanted to pay later. Anyway, I thought the whole thing was in poor taste, including waiting outside my room to make sure the payment went through. Overall it was a good one night stay.

Summary: I had an excellent stay at Protea hotel. It was very comfortable and pleasant. The breakfast in the morning was very good. The room was very clean with a very comfortable bed. It was quiet at night so I was able to get some great sleep. The whole staff were awesome, extremely helpful and courteous.
