Summer is in full swing at the HollyWoods. Check out the brand new pics of the landscaping, new pergola and brand new interior shots. There also are some pics from our 2024 summer guests and their “catches” from the pond. Book a midweek short stay with us this summer, we still have some dates open. We also have weekends open for the fall foliage.
Whether it’s you and your family, or you and your friends, we have a place that was designed to relax and recharge. This craftsman bungalow has all the modern amenities, but with a homey nod to the past.
A long, winding driveway leads you through the woods to the house, which overlooks a pond for fishing, a grassy field for lawn games, and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows under the stars. Inside, an open floor plan lets you all be together while comfy bedrooms and an additional sitting room allow for downtime. In cooler months, hunker down by the wood-burning fireplace. Step outside to enjoy covered porches, a screened-in dining porch, grilling terrace, pergola, another fire pit, outdoor shower and walking trails.
Consider a quiet fall foliage weekend or spending the holidays in the woods. Thanksgiving is always very popular. We have also had guests for Christmas and New Year.
Whether you bike, hike, swim, kayak, shop, antique, dine, gamble, golf, or just relax in the hammock, there’s always something to do in South Haven, MI. The House: The main floor of the house is an open floor plan with the gourmet kitchen, dining room with large farmhouse table, and a living with a wood-burning fireplace. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite and walnut countertops, large pantry, and a screened outdoor dining porch. Other outdoor porches have rockers, upholstered furniture, and ceiling fans. The main floor primary suite includes a full bath with large shower, washer/dryer, king size bed and french doors leading outside. The second floor has 2 bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and the other with two twin beds. Also upstairs is a sitting room with a pull-out sofa and doors that lead out to a balcony. The second floor has a full bathroom with tub/shower.The house has all of the comforts of home, central air, wood burning fireplace, large-screen/satellite TV, Blu-ray player, DVD/CD player, and audio system with speakers throughout the inside and outside of the house. The house is secured with an alarm system.
The Land: This charming cottage, nestled in the woods of Michigan, is named for the various species of holly bushes grown on site. As you enter the private 20 acres, you are greeted by a park-like area, with flower beds and tree specimens. This area also features a fruit orchard, containing apples, peaches, and pears. The gravel driveway leads you through this open area into the woods, winding down a tree lined drive to the house, set back in the woods near the creek and stone's throw from the large fishing pond. Walking trails radiate out from the house and circle the property. Tucked away in the woods is a third fire pit, which is in the center of an area of campsites carved from the woods.

Summary: Hollywoods is the perfect spot for a retreat in the woods, to connect with your people and disconnect from everything else. The walking trails are amazing, the kitchen has EVERYTHING you might need for a gourmet meal prep, and the space is cozy. I can't recommend this property highly enough.

Summary: Wonderful short get away for my husband and I. Peaceful and beautiful, we took our 4 legged family member who loved the trails so much! The nature and beautiful scenery with all the wonderful flowers! Gorgeous! Anyone that loves the outdoors will love this property! House was equipped with everything you would need. If I had to say anything negative would be the bed wasn’t the most comfortable but wasn’t a game changer. Would definitely stay again!

Summary: The property is unparalleled. We enjoyed the fishing pond, the field, the walking trails, the beautiful plantings, the butterflies, the bird song and more. The house worked really well for us as a three generation family with the younger families upstairs. Everything you need is there to prepare meals and enjoy, relaxing in many indoor and outdoor spaces.

Summary: We fished, we hiked, we picked blueberry’s, canoed, golfed and enjoyed every moment being in this beautiful house. The pond was full of fish big and small, the house has everything you could possibly need. We did a jigsaw puzzle on the screened porch and watched a thunderstorm in the rocking chairs on the front porch. It is a beautiful, peaceful and private property. The landscaping is perfect and the paths through the woods are so special. We would love to come back here again. ♥️

Summary: This property is such a lovely place that our 3 teenagers didn't desire to go anywhere else (except the Barbie movie). Many acres of exquisite landscaping combined with natural woods, interior of property is beautifully designed and decorated, owners are wonderful. Our little dogs ran around unleashed for the first time because we were so secluded. Very close to several cute towns, I'm sure the restaurants are good but we chose to enjoy the home. Will return.

Summary: Stayed here with the family, including two teenagers and a dog. Beautiful house and surroundings. Great to explore the nearby trails and South Haven is only a short drive away. I think this would be a little bit of tight fit for a larger group but other than that it is perfect vacation spot! Thanks!
