Summary: The location was perfect for the hiking. Sleeping in bunkbed was fun experience though.

Summary: The fire alarm box started making sounds, as it had a fault on it at 03:00 in the morning. This also meant that there was no lights or electricity in any of the rooms, as it only left the emergency light on.

Summary: This hotel was the perfect base camp for hiking to Preikestolen. The lake setting is beautiful and there is kayaking and disc golf and many different hikes. The hike up to Pulpit Rock has three steep step inclines met with meadows and wide rock spaces. The hike is worth every step for the stunning and memorable views. It's quite an experience to look over the side of a cliff down about 2,000 feet. The hotel is rustic with it's front steps at the trailhead. The staff are helpful and friendly (thank you Adam and Natallia!). Most surprising feature in this hiking type lodge was the incredible dinners. The Norwegian food is prepared as in a five star restaurant and a had to thank the chef for the Asparagus soup and the meatball and vegetables main course. The room is comfortable with a nice lake view. A great stay!

Summary: This is the best hotel for Pulpit Rock hiking. The service and breakfast are very good. The only thing is it is not very quiet because some people need to get up very early to hike to Pulpit Rock.

Summary: My teenage daughter and I spent one night here in June 2025 and it was a great stay! We arrived in the evening and the self-check-in didn’t work because we booked through Hotels.com so we had to check-in at the “Barception”. Then we had dinner at the restaurant—only a few options but good food and amazing views. Room was clean and neat. The Hiker Cafe the next day was awesome. Overall great stay.
