The space
The Ponderay Cottage is your home away from home. Designed with all the comforts of everyday living for all to enjoy while exploring everything Sandpoint has to offer. If you desire epic powder ski days or lounging on the lake on a hot summer's day, we have you covered!
Schweitzer Moutain Ski Resort is the premier ski destination in the Pacific Northwest, and it is an easy 25-minute drive (10 miles) from Ponderay Cottage. If you don't feel like driving to the mountain, there is a free ski shuttle service located 5 minutes away that will take you straight to the mountain.
Need something to do when the snow melts but you still want to enjoy Schweitzer? Schweitzer transforms itself into a mountain biking paradise with over 40 miles of trails for all levels. If biking isn't your thing, there are plenty of marked hiking trails and huckleberries along the way.
Planning a summer lake vacation? Downtown Sandpoint is THE quintessential lake town that has it all: delicious food, boutique shopping, a few dive bars and the BEST local ice cream on the main strip. Enjoy direct beach access and a large city park as you get ready to explore beautiful Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho's longest lake at 43 miles long.

The House:
The Ponderay Cottage is a newly constructed home wholly designed for families and friends to enjoy your much needed time together! We created this space with comfort and coziness in mind. If there is anything else you would love to see in this home, please let us know!
The layout: The main house has 4 bedrooms, all equipped with memory foam mattresses. The primary bedroom has a king bed, large walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom on the main floor. A smaller bedroom with a very comfortable twin day bed is also located on main floor. Radiant heat floors throughout the first floor.
The upstairs has two large bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed and a twin bed, both with memory foam mattresses. Bedroom 2 has five twin bunk beds, all with memory foam mattresses. A full bathroom and workspace complete the upstairs living area.
The living room has a gas-powered fireplace to warm up the cold nights and an AC unit to cool down those hot summer days. Don't want to go out and eat? We have a fully stocked kitchen for those that love to cook and plenty of coffee making options to get you going in the morning.
The Apartment:
Need additional space for extended family or friends? Our private, fully furnished apartment above the 2-car garage is your answer. This unit can sleep 4 comfortably. The primary bedroom has a king size bed and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. They will also have their own fully stocked kitchen AND washer and dryer!

Summary: We loved this home near Sandpoint. Great home base for our extended family to visit Sandpoint and Silverwood. The home was super clean, spacious, and well appointed with everything we could have wanted. Would definitely recommend!

Summary: Beautiful place to stay close to all of the action, however very quiet and just across the street from a park for the kids to play at. We appreciated all of the amenities, and the apartment over the garage so my mother could be somewhat removed from the action. Would stay there again!

Summary: Such a great house. We really loved having the apartment over the garage for extra space for family to make themselves at home. The house had so many nice touches from lots of towels to a great kitchen set up. We felt right at home and only wished we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend this property and host!

Summary: We stayed for my son's wedding and this home away from home was amazing. It was clean, well furnished, plenty of room, and let us bring the dogs (they were actually in the wedding!) My family stayed in the house and the apartment above the garage was perfect for friends that came for the wedding. The wedding was in Sagle and the drive from this location was a straight shot and very convenient. The communication was easy and responses were fast. This place was GREAT!

Summary: We had a great time at the house in Ponderay for our trip to Schweitzer. The house was very clean, comfortable, and we’ll appointed. The host was very responsive when the automated check in instructions didn’t come through, and we had no problems getting into the property.
