Positive: One of the quirkiest places we've stayed in with the hosts turning the property's narrow width into an advantage where you enter a succession of interesting rooms, and then outside, the garden goes on for another sixty metres! Positive: Quirky, fun and immaculate cottage. Sue really has thought of it all from the lovely extras for our precious pup to the bath robes and tea cakes. Lots of nooks with interesting ornaments to discover. A great base to explore Galloway. Sue was so quick at replying to correspondence and really helpful offering lots of extra information about the cottage and surrounding area. We look forward to returning.

Positive: From the moment we booked, our stay went from strength to strength. Sue was super helpful when I had questions leading up to our visit and had some recommendations. There were goodies for all of us on arrival - adults, dog and child alike. From underfloor heating to all the little touches like a dog bed; muddy paws towel; extra blankets; games and books; the coffee and wine bar and the wine cooler being pre-chilled, we simply had a ball. We were using this as our base for a visit to Wigtown and a much needed staycation away from the noise an hustle and bustle of everyday life. The location is perfect - quiet enough to feel isolated in a good way but also in close enough driving distance to shops and other small villages-towns. The decor is lovely and compliments the listed building very well. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back … our 6 year old daughter is determined to come back. We’ve already recommended to family and friends.

Negative: A few suggestions but none that made us hate our stay: A less bright bulb in the picture light in the nook so it can be used but more atmospheric. We found the light came in the main room even with all the blinds shut so we were woken up before 7am on both mornings. Maybe make it known on the wi-fi board that the tea, coffee, uht milk, mugs etc are all located in the wine nook as we arrived and headed straight out for milk because it wasn’t clear. Again, nothing to impact the stay, just little suggestions.

I stay away in a lot of places for work and very rarely do you see the effort and attention to detail that you get at the pink cottage. This is one of those places I’ll be looking for excuses to get away and stay there again. Such a stunning cottage I didn’t want to leave.

Positive: From the moment we entered the cottage we knew we were in for a treat. Beautifully presented and perfectly cosy. Everywhere you look you find something new and interesting. Just the two of us stayed at Pink cottage and we found it ideal as a base to explore to the south and north of Newton Stewart. The area is quiet which is how we prefer it and the locals are friendly and approachable. There is a shop directly across for supplies with Newton Stewart and Wigtown only a short drive away for other amenities. Being February the weather didn't allow us to enjoy the outside area as you would if it was warmer but there's a barbeque and dinning furniture to make use of. As for inside the cottage itself we would gladly move in tomorrow! For us it was perfect. We didn't use the upstairs bedroom but there are twin beds up there. Downstairs is split into four zones, lounge, kitchen with shower room, snug and then master bedroom with ensuite at the back. All finished to a very high standard and extremely comfortable. We especially liked the underfloor heating. This property is a real gem and the owners care about your stay. I've definitely got a feeling we'll be returning to the pink cottage. Book in quick because this is going to be a hot property. Perfect for hikers, cyclists and those that would like a little refinement in a cottage with history.
