Positive: The interior of the Pinewood Guesthouse is so inspiring, featuring natural materials with a modern flair. Our room was a good size, and we loved having access to the common living room and sauna. The surroundings were beautiful and quiet, right in the middle of nature. There was a lovely swimming spot nearby that we visited frequently, and the city of Lahti isn't too far away. We will definitely be back!
Summary: A tastefully curated cottage stay between calming forest and fields

Positive: This is a true Finnish home that everyone must experience, just an hour’s drive from Helsinki! We rented this place for New Years. It easily fits 8 people or even more with couches. The interior is a work of art, blending modern appliances with traditional wood furniture, carvings, Finnish paintings and 1920s furnace. The kitchen is the most fully equipped kitchen I’ve EVER been to, making it ideal for gatherings where you want to cook full meals. No need to bring any of your own kitchenware. The host Tiina is very sweet and responsive to all questions. The fields and horses around the cottage are great for a walk to get fresh air and clear your mind. And don’t forget the Finnish wood fire sauna with genuine wood. The rocks get scorching hot in there for the authentic steam & experience. Highly recommend and our group will definitely be back!
Negative: Nothing at all
Summary: Perfect stay for any holiday or blissful escape from the city

Positive: The place is an amazing getaway! The house is well-equipped for cooking and dining with a group of people and is modern inside. You can enjoy the sauna and rooms with a relaxing view. They also have a convenient grill place just outside the house. The hosts Tiina and Viivi were so accommodating and welcoming during the whole time of our stay. We spent a great time petting the horses and saw chickens, sheep, ducks and many other animals. Would definitely recommend this place in nature and come again next summer!
Negative: all was perfect

Positive: We liked the calm, the ripe blueberries in the forest outside our private door; we loved the fact that Tiina has designed and built an entirely eco-friendly home with clay floors, straw bale walls and heated by — wait for it — the heat given off by the muck of her beautiful horses in the stable just down the driveway. We loved walking along the trails, the biking on the very safe highway and the lake that we swam in -- we had the lake to ourselves! -- a 10-minute bike ride away. We loved being in the wood-fired sauna, its benches made from aspen cut on the property, watching the sun set through the window. We played with dogs, petted horses and baked a blueberry pie. We loved our hosts, Tiina and her daughter Viivi. Who are as warm as Finns can be.
Negative: We liked everything.
Summary: Pinewood is Finland at its natural best, one comes away from a short stay feeling you have nsomehow understood the count
