Positive: The view, the bed and the hamam. The Jordanian restaurant was amazing

Negative: We were not aware that there was work been done to the property, I booked the hotel because of the view from the terrace but the terrace was shut off as was the swimming pool. Whilst I appreciate it might have been too cold to swim, it would have been nice to sit out to view the sunset. If you are self driving- it’s good to note that the incline up to the hotel is very steep. Car parking staff also amazing.

Positive: Our stay at Petra Marriott was truly enjoyable. The hotel is exceptionally clean, and the overall atmosphere feels comfortable and well maintained. The restaurant offers very delicious food with a high standard of quality and presentation. The sauna facilities are excellent and provide a perfect place to relax after a long day exploring Petra. We also appreciated the parking and garage service, which made everything convenient and stress-free. The staff are warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with traditional Arabic coffee, which creates a beautiful and authentic first impression. Petra Marriott combines comfort, cleanliness, and true Jordanian hospitality in a very elegant way.

Negative: The only downside during our stay was that some parts of the hotel construction were not fully completed. While sitting in the restaurant, the unfinished areas affected the overall view and slightly reduced the visual experience

Positive: We had a warm welcome and our room was fine, nothing special, a little dated. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was fine. Everything was clean. Food in the restaurant as good as was the local food on offer in the Bedouin tent in the evening. We enjoyed the local music. The staff were efficient and attentive.

Negative: Sadly, my sister and her husband were given a room which overlooked the road and an electricity pylon. Considering the hotel was more than half empty, this was very disappointing indeed. We didn't ask for a room change as were only staying for one night but I wished I had insisted now. There was noise from the building work going on but as we weren't at the pool for long, it didn't matter too much. There was a shuttle to Petra but it only ran in the morning and late afternoon. As we didn't want to stay in Petra for 8 hours, we ended up taking our own car down to the visitor centre.

Summary: Ok but somewhat underwhelming...
