Positive: The location was great, with restaurants and a shuttle to the mountains just a 3-minute walk away. The private Onsen was fabulous after a day up the mountain. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They picked us up from the station in their shuttle bus, which was helpful. Thank you. We would definitely stay again.

Negative: The room was smallish for 5 of us; however, that seems to be pretty standard across Japan. Everything else was great.

Positive: The onsen is great after a big day on the slopes. The room was warm and large enough for us all we even cooked our own dinner one night instead of getting take away because they had everything you needed in the kitchen. The owners are absolutely lovely and helped us with luggage received and forwarding and dropped us back to the bus terminal on check out day. We loved having a drink in the dining room at the end of every day around the fireplace trying to support the owners a bit more than just buying at a convenience store and bringing back. It was a pleasure and we can’t wait to come back.

Negative: Everything was really great but if there had to be one thing it was just the mattresses on the bunks seem to sink where you lay so I could feel base of bed. It might have just been more noticeable after already being sore from spending the days on the slopes but definitely not a deal breaker we will most certainly be back regardless.

Positive: This property was beautifully decorated, well maintained, and in a lovely location. The owners couple take great care of their guests, I started calling the lady a ninja as she was always making sure things where perfect, but I never really saw her do it lol. The beds were comfortable. The onsen, was perfect after a day skiing! Location is great, just a block away from the main street of restaurants, and bus stops to the ski resorts!

Negative: We had the twin room upstairs, it was very small, but manageable. The toilet was downstairs which was annoying, also the sink is out in the hallway, for bushing teeth etc. not idea. Also the room with shared bathrooms, only have the onsen rooms for showers, which is a bit annoying as you have to book the onsen to be able to have a shower.

Summary: Feels like a home away from home.

Positive: Was an amazingly cozy and comfortable stay in Echoland! 1. super convenient and easy walking distance to restaurants, bus station and ski rental place! 2. friendly and helpful local couple owns the place! Gave us a lift from the train station and to the bus station! 3. amazing private onsen super nice to soak in after a long day on the slopes, easy to book and clean!

Positive: The owners were very helpful and accommodating and picked us up/dropped off when we left. Fantastic room (103) it was a bit quirky, but we absolutely loved it. The extra space was great, and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. The absolute best thing about the property has to be the 2 x private onsen. My child and I loved being able to use the baths for just ourselves , especially the outdoor one (there are 2 in that one, indoor and outdoor).we used it every night, sometimes twice! There is a booking sheet out the front of each onsen and people just write their names each day. There are only about 8 or so rooms, so they were never close to being booked out as i had feared (before i arrived). The property is also a short walk from echoland mainstreet and the shuttle buses, etc. Lovely stay, we will be back.

Negative: We loved everything, no complaints at all!!
