Positive: Very clean place in a beautiful and calm setting. The host was very friendly and nice to chat with. The food was well prepared and fresh. The dining location had a great view.

Positive: The owner was a very pleasant man to talk to, and he served a great breakfast.

Negative: I like the property and the grounds .For a long-term stay the kitchen could use a few more utensils for doing your own cooking. We were only a short stay so it was fine.

Summary: Unique property great value if you have a rental car as it is a little bit of a drive out of the main town.

Positive: Pasagye Cache means Hidden Landscape in French. Gilbert, the owner, is from Montreal and loves sharing his property with guests. The bird watching from his deck is amazing! You will be 4kms away from Esteli, so it’s also very quiet. If you are planning to make your own meals…keep them simple, the kitchen is not well equipped (although Gilbert can probably rustle up anything you need).

Positive: Our host, Gilbert, could not have been more accommodating, more kind, or a better cook! French omelettes for breakfast! We love hanging with him and visiting and learning about life in Nicaragua. We were so happy not to be in the mayhem of Esteli, and opted to have Gilbert cook for us. Two of the nights. We were there. Wonderful, fish, beef and chicken with lots of veggies, cooked with care. When I asked if he had something sweet after our first dinner, he went to the kitchen and whipped up French crêpes! The next night he had already baked a cake for us! Breakfast and dinner were served on his lovely porch, overlooking a creek, and the hills on the other side. Lots of birds! The room itself was the nicest in all of NicarAgua. Super comfy bed, amazing giant, whirlpool tub in the bathroom, and attention to every detail. The sliding glass doors to the outside were mirrored on the other side, so you could lay in bed and watch the birds And the jungle, no one able to see in. The most amazing colorful birds were our alarm clocks every morning, trying to make friends with their reflections in that mirror. The price for the lodging and food is also extremely reasonable. Most of all, we felt like we were leaving a dear friend when we said goodbye to Gilbert on our last day

Positive: We had a great stay! The room was nice, with jacuzzi. Gilbert is such a nice man, he made us feel at home and even is a good chef! So if you're not want to drive to the centre of Esteli he can cook you a very good meal. The area is beautiful and slightly cooler then te rest of Nicaragua. When we come back one day, we will definitely stay at Gilbert's place again and bring stroopwafels, or maple syrup ;)
