Positive: The island alone… PARADISE!!!
Negative: No clean water, our cabin was lack of ventilation, electric ventilation is not enough, the cabin should be opened to get through the wind.
Summary: Cleaned water especially drinking water to provide.

Positive: The island, beach along with the coral was beautiful. The mornings before the day trippers arrived were so special, it’s a place to fully unwind.
Negative: The shared toilets or the showers were never cleaned, the toilet bin wasn’t emptied for the duration of our trip, even though we requested it to be. The food choice was limited on several days along with a shortage of fish, which really surprised us.

Positive: So amazing that we changed our trip schedule to come back and stay for a second time! The best beach and clearest water we found in all our time in the Philippines! Delicious breakfast on what feels like a private beach in the mornings. Comfortable yurt style tents with aircon right in the beach. Darryn and Alona were great hosts and we loved the fresh seafood! Writing about it now I miss the island again! Just breathtaking views and stunning water to swim high tide and low tide all day long. There are a few boats of tourists that visit during the day but it didn't bother us at all as there's plenty of space and was nice to people watch. I felt sorry for them that they weren't staying on the island and you could tell that they did too. Can't wait to return again.
Negative: Everything was perfect for us. Reading some of the negative comments we felt sorry for the guys who had exaggerated expectations of the island. The rooms are appropriately priced due to the stunning location and remoteness of the resort so please don't expect big city amenities. We rented a car for our trip as the roads are great and easily jumped on a boat at the port with no problems at all but we are pro travellers. I would say always organise your own transport wherever you go in the world to limit the risk of potential issues with transport and tour operators.

Positive: We loved Janet and Sir Peter amazing people. The food was not great but I loved how wonderful they were. The r, Jin needs to give these amazing people a pay rise considering that they are running this resort on their own. Daryn is also a person that needs to be applauded- fantastic person
Negative: Communication would be the key thing I would talk about. We had no idea what was going on a lot of the time

Positive: The most amazing place we have ever been! I've been travelling non stop since 2010, we have been living in the Philippines for 4 years now and this was the highlight so far!!! everything from the warm welcome, stunning views and comfortable accommodations to the delicious lobster and crab dishes. Just WOW If you're looking for the ultimate Island escape look no further! We can't wait to return and try diving these pristine waters. Thank you so much to Darryn and the team at Patawan island. You guys are amazing!

Positive: Darren and his team do their best to keep the island clean and well organised , impressive they have a starlink Wi-Fi connection which is faster than many Wi-Fi you will find on Palawan mainland . Since the weather was bad and the resort was almost empty We were upgraded for free to a room with private bathroom which we really appreciated . Very nice old lady looking like the island’s grandmother attending guests for breakfast . Amenities are basic but very good compared to the actual rural situation of Balabac area .
Negative: There is nothing I didn’t like honestly , Darren is doing his best to improve the resort . Don’t give electricity and current water for guaranteed 24/7 . Just a small suggestion , I found kind of strage that the food options for lunch and dinner were very limited and basic . Balabac is in the middle of a sea paradise with fisherman all over the place , buying fresh fish daily should be basic in this places as it might easily be sold to tourists for 5 times the price . Darren get a barbecue going all nights and buy fresh seafood everyday , you will make your guest feel in paradise .
