Summary: I stayed at the Parkroyal Melbourne Airport last night and while the location and design were promising, the overall experience fell short due to cleanliness and comfort issues. The room appeared superficially modern but was clearly not properly cleaned. Dust was visible on surfaces like the top of the TV, and both bedside tables had sticky residues that suggested they hadn’t been wiped down. Slippers were missing, and the wardrobe floors had debris that should’ve been addressed. The bathroom was particularly unpleasant, with strands of hair from previous guests and a used makeup container left behind. The mattress was extremely firm, which made sleeping difficult. Worse still, the bedding only covered half the bed (lower half) and was so thin that I was freezing throughout the night. For a premium airport hotel, this level of discomfort was unexpected. Despite being right at the airport, the room was impressively quiet. The hotel’s design is sleek and modern, and the building itself is in good condition. Overall, while the location and aesthetics are strong, the lack of basic cleanliness and comfort made this stay disappointing. I hope management takes these issues seriously, as the potential is there, but the execution needs work.

Summary: Very convenient location to the terminal. Staff were very helpful. There was a queue at check in so other staff quickly jumped in to help. The restaurant was very nice and the wait staff could not be nicer.

Summary: Check-in staff member friendly and charming. We were given a room when a suite had been booked but it was ready two hours before check-in time as was our actual booking, the suite. It only took five minutes to resolve and we weren’t in a hurry anyway. I had also changed dates a few times due to the trip getting extended so an understandable glitch. Suite was lovely as always - spacious and with a great view of the airport runway. Soundproofed though. Lunch was fantastic, the risotto was excellent as always and Mum loved her spaghetti. The only immediate negative was that despite our tablets and smartphones connecting to the complimentary Wi-Fi, my new PC laptop didn’t and didn’t even connect to a portal page. This had happened on a previous stay with a MacBookPro so the problem isn’t the computer. When the front desk sent up someone to help, he had no idea and the issue wasn’t resolved. While this wasn’t that much of an issue due to the Wi-Fi working for everything else & the ability for them to StreamCast to the TV smoothly, I could see it being a factor for business guests or content creators who needed their laptops connected. Dinner was great, the butter chicken and the vermicelli salad, which was delivered as room service. My only other issue was that the bed linen was hard to pull up over your chin, so tightly was it fitted. But the AC worked well so we could get the temperature to a comfortable level. Runway suite is genuinely worth it for the view,space &vibe
