Positive: Position & restaurant Dolittle much the better of the 2 options. The hotel has increased significantly over recent years & become more focused on family facilities e.g lodges, town house rooms, yet still have the same dining facilities which can become extremely busy.

Negative: Room 141 (131>141) is on a service corridor, constant noise & door banging as staff access bedding etc.. Room had little heating (dependent on mobile radiator ). View of a wooden fence to loading area.

Summary: Lovely location but lacked that special experience feeling.

Positive: The grounds are the standout feature for us. We love walking the various trails. We also enjoy the atmosphere in the hotel (old world charm) and the friendly service.

Negative: It is becoming rather expensive which means we stay a shorter time in the hotel, perhaps a loyalty scheme for regulars may help in this regard.

Positive: The location is breathtaking - ignore on the water and has open fires on cold evenings - food is great 👍

Negative: outdoor pool closed for repairs and no apology - that was disappointing as I was especially looking forward to the outdoor pool.
