Positive: This hotel has it all; location, facilities, service & ambience. From the moment I arrived the service was excellent and authentic. The parking solution is perfect, especially so close to the Central Park and Old Town. That location could not be better. You get all the advantages of proximity without the disadvantages usually associated with being in the old center. The hotel combines old world charm with a modern infrastructure. Everything works and then there’s an aesthetic touch that adds some indefinable je ne sais quoi that in combination with a strong team is the source of that ambience.

Negative: I think 21 euros is a little steep for breakfast, but not out of line with the competition. The restaurant prices were also relatively steep. I suppose that’s the price you pay for excellence.

Positive: Bed and pillows were very comfortable, parking was on site, support staff were friendly, good breakfast buffet, very spacious room

Negative: Magdalena checked us in but didn’t explain anything, not about the restaurant for dinner, or that they had city maps available and couldn’t (or wouldn’t) answer any questions about city attractions. But she made sure to let us know that we would have to pay for parking since we booked with booking.com. No fan in the bathroom and the shower leaked water on the floor. Our room was not made up the first day. No mini fridge but a note that we are welcome to use room service for purchases. Several notices about how they are saving the planet - by not having the fridge, by asking us to reuse towels and forego room cleaning. Perhaps this is true to an extent but mostly there are using guilt in a ploy to save the hotel money while denying expected comforts to guests. The towel thing is common but never come across the rest of these “requests”. Also, the location is advertised as being right in the centre it’s actually about a 15 minute walk to most attractions and there are no restaurants nearby.
