Positive: Beautiful location so peaceful and very easy to get to from coban. Big clean room with private outside area for relaxing/ reading, drinking water provided and had access to cooking facilities. Otto was a wonderful host we felt so welcome and he was always contactable for requests/ local advice. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Positive: It was great to be immersed in the forest and the views up top were beautiful. I liked the rustic cabin look. For an eco-hotel I was glad they had hot water for showers.

Negative: You could hear other people in the other rooms. The electrical system was hastily wired despite the low voltage solar system it looked poorly put together. There was a few large insects in the room that came out at night (creepy sleep). Beds were uncomfortable and the pillows were thin.

Summary: The have a great friendly staff and created a chill eco-tourism vibe, but lacked comfortable sleeping accomodations

Positive: The staff are very friendly and helpful. They picked me up from the bus stop because it was raining! It's not a big deal that you're a little out of town because they provide affordable food and there are buses. The location is beautiful with the house nestled among the trees. They even have a bagging for birds watching and lent me their binoculars (well monocular ^^). It's also conveniently close to Orchigonia. Don't expect luxury, though. They live the eco vibe, so you have to ask for them to turn on the electricity (which they will happily do) and there is no wifi (but good cell reception if you have a SIM). The food was tasty and they adjusted for me being sick and vegetarian by making soup.

Negative: Hot water was somehow not working the first evening, was fixed once I asked.

Positive: The accommodation was set 7 minutes away by car from town down a gravel road. Very quiet accommodation. Offered a small trail around the property for the fauna of the country. The small bar area at the top of the hill had great views and offered a quiet social zone. And only accommodation in Guatemala with real hot water in the shower. The host were very accommodating super helpful and friendly , thank you!!!

Negative: Better sign from the dirt road to accommodation would have been good. The communal area inside the main building is very dark, uninviting. You can hear everyone at all times in the room. The bed sheets are to thin and comes off if you turn in bed. No side tables and only main light on the ceiling.

Positive: The property is absolutely beautiful, situated in the middle of a small forest. The owners are very dedicated to conserving and restoring the beautiful nature in this area. It's possible to spot some rare birds. The meals are simple, but tasty and well-priced. Otto was very helpful in providing suggestions for activities and arranging the shuttle for us to our next destination. Coban is very easy to reach, with chicken busses passing by every 10 minutes or so.
