Summary: We drive through Spain, Bilbao to Almeria & back twice a year. Our trip down consists of 1 stop at Manzanares in the Parador. We now take a more leisurely trip back up through Spain, taking in 3 stops. We found the Parador, Ducal Palacio Lerma in 2025. Fiesta weekend!! We loved it. Beautiful building, fantastically furnished, staff very attentive. A special shout out for Davide at Reception for his attention to detail & local knowledge. Dinner in the atmospheric dining room, superb. Care with my food requirements 1st class. This years first visit surpassed 2025. No Fiesta so very calm. Davide welcomed us like old friends which is delightful. Lerma itself is very welcoming. Plenty of great restaurants, bars. Beautiful Totally in Love with Lerma & it’s people.

Summary: Great location and lots of free parking in front of the hotel but the bathroom was dated and the whirlpool aspect of the bath was broken.

Summary: Everything here was super. Can highly recommend at a place to stopover. The Parador and surrounding square is stunning but the area has limited other attractions. There is a Wednesday market so parking is not available outside the hotel on this day. Otherwise secure parking is offered in an underground car park for 16 Euros per day.

Summary: The Parador de Lerma was delightful - a lovely building and charming staff. Parking was very easy in front of the Parador. The central atrium is a great place for a relaxing lunch or afternoon tea. The Parador is right in the middle of town so everything is within easy walking distance - having said that, there isn’t too much to see and we saw everything that we wanted to see in one day. Although we didn’t see the famous Toy Museum as it is only open at weekends- our fault, we should have checked the website. We had a wonderful, memorable meal at Restaurante Galoria - a small family-run restaurant with a delightful romantic ambience, dining in their courtyard. We also ate in the Parador restaurant- an excellent meal but with a somewhat different ambience - we were advised to book early for dinner as a large convention was taking place in the hotel and they would also be dining that night. We sat down at 7pm in a deserted restaurant as the convention was dining in a separate dining room! A final word on our drive to Lerma - we drove up from Sigüenza on the back roads via Imon and Esterbanvela. For the first 80 miles of that drive we did not see another car on our side of the road - no-one in front of us, no-one behind us. It was just relaxed driving on empty roads with beautiful views all the way - one of the best drives that I have ever done. We stopped at Esterbanvela for a coffee - a memorable open-air coffee at the side of the road!
