Positive: A little piece of paradise by the lake We had an unforgettable stay at Paradise in Portugal with our children. Daniela and Frank were incredibly warm and welcoming, always smiling and attentive to everything we needed. Their dogs – Slim, Wiggle, and Jack – stole our hearts and became part of our family during our stay. The natural surroundings are breathtaking, with stunning views that invite deep peace and quiet joy. The magical birds that visit the property added a sweet, enchanting touch to each day — we loved watching them flutter freely around us. The boats and SUP boards gave us a true sense of freedom and connection with the water. Evenings were filled with delicious meals, laughter, and meaningful conversations. We made friends for life here. Highly recommended – it truly lives up to its name. Paradise.

Negative: If you’re coming for a family stay or planning to stay for a longer period, we recommend bringing supplies in advance, as there is no supermarket nearby. We also suggest bringing mosquito repellent — other than that, everything was perfect. It’s truly an experience of being in the heart of nature.

Positive: What's not to love? The beautiful nature, the outstanding gardens, the silence, the peacefulness, the amazing food (vegan option for me was ALWAYS considered with great attention), the playful dogs - just lovely, sharing the meals together with other travelers and most of all the amazing hosts / owners Frank and Daniela - amazing couple, caring, considerate and awesome storytellers.

Negative: I panicked a little during the 4 km dirt road to get to the property (but it was totally worth it!). Fortunately I had a SUV...

Positive: It was lovely and peaceful and quiet. They had lovely gardens and a good view

Negative: The access to the property was very difficult, taking 20 minutes down a very rough track. I was worried our exhaust pipe wouldnt survive, a complete bone shaker. You then felt unable to go out again for the whole stay. The swimming pool was not as described. It was a half empty reservoir 100 foot climb down steep steps with no hand rail half way down. I was struggling with knee and ankle problems so we were unable to get down there. So they are unable to cater for people with limited mobility as it says on this site. Also, they didnt cater very well for those with dietary requirements because there was no choice for dinner, which we understood due to their remoteness but they wouldnt tell us what dinner was so that we could advise whether it was suitable or not. The first night was great but the second night I couldnt eat anything. They did provide another main course but we felt that the following night it would be less than satisfactory situation. If you are fit and healthy, with not mobility issues or dietary requirements and own a 4x4 it is a great place for a few days.

Positive: Frank and Daniela's Quinta is a real paradise - you can't find anything like it anywhere else. You'll instantly feel like home, because everyone welcomes you so warmly. The staff is super friendly. The home-cooked meals by Daniela are delicious and you'll eat at a big table with all the other guests. This makes it feel like you're on holiday with friends and you meet so many interesting and nice people. We went birding with Frank and it was stunning. Not only did we see many birds we didn't know before, Frank knew a lot about every single one. We had a great time there and will 100% come back!
