Positive: You worry the GPS has made you take the wrong turn but then you spot a couple waving at the end of the unpaved road. This must be the place. The warm welcome makes you feel ‘à la maison’ instantly. You push the old metal gate and you step into Sandrine and Corrado’s enchanting world. The garden is bursting with life: the sparrows are singing their heart out up on the renovated stable’s rooftop, the bees and butterflies are gliding from lavender to rosemary and back, the lazy lizard is dosing on the hot stone by the pool. You struggle to take it all in it’s so idyllic. This must be the place. Your room is a wonderful mix of eclectic furniture and artefacts carefully curated to guarantee your utmost comfort and pleasure, no expense has been spared. This must be the place. Your breakfast the next day is a feast for the tastebuds in a stunning dining room. Sandrine takes you on a culinary journey around the Val di Noto with scrumptious savoury and sweet dishes, everything you hope for… and more. This must be the place. What Sandrine and Corrado have created at Papalei La Maison is a true piece of art. It’s like Rembrandt’s master strokes, or Hugo’s epic prose. It stirs something in you, it moves you, and it stays with you. You leave with a heavy heart, because the best experiences in life are fleeting. But you keep the memories and you count yourself lucky to have crossed Sandrine and Corrado’s path. As you pull the old metal gate shut behind you, you take it all in one last time and you just know: this was the place.

The property itself is absolutely beautiful, thoughtfully designed, very well maintained, and full of charm. The owners are incredibly kind, friendly, and always ready to help. They gave us great recommendations for places to eat and things to see, and really made an effort to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. You can clearly see how much love, care, and attention they put into both their guests and the property, it creates such a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. We immediately felt at home. And their puppy is the cutest! Breakfast each morning was a real highlight, with freshly homemade dishes and pastries that were delicious every single day. The location is peaceful and surrounded by nature, far away from busy tourist areas and noise, making it perfect for relaxing and switching off. We stayed in a pool-view room for a week, which was the perfect size for me and my boyfriend. It had everything we needed, including a closet and a clean, spacious bathroom. We also really appreciated the daily fresh towels and bathrobes and the small treats that were provided, it’s those little details that make a difference. Overall, we honestly have nothing to complain about. Everything was perfect and absolutely worth the price. They don’t just run a boutique guesthouse, they live hospitality with heart. The loft-like room is spacious, the bathroom large, the bed incredibly comfortable. Everything invites rest. The outdoor area around the pool is perfect for slowing down, with plenty of cozy seating and lounging options. And the best part? The hosts are always right there when you need them, whether it’s a spontaneous hand with the luggage, an extra cushion, or a coffee delivered to the poolside. And then comes breakfast.
