Positive: The hosts where extremely pleasant

Negative: The location was very odd , placed inside a university , the room had no windows and metal bars on outside . The taxi driver was also u sure about our location being safe !

Summary: The flat was over priced and not a great location , the coffee shop near by was the best thing

Positive: Note that this review is for a booking I made for Panatina Hills Apartments, but that the room I was allocated was actually in Marine Apartments. Both are currently showing on booking.com as separate properties using the same photos, but owned by same people. Totally different locations. The photo shown of the outside of Equinox College is the Marine Apartments building where we actually stayed. In daylight hours, you can find the manager by passing through the alleyway (black gate) immediately to the left of the three stores and knocking on door number 14. Not obvious as no signage about any accommodation and people in the store out front didn’t seem to know who to look for. The positives: The building felt secure, the location was good for East Side of town and airport, and it was easy to get either a bus or taxi from right outside the door. A few takeaways within walking distance and a couple of stores on the ground floor of the building. ANZ building right next door with ATM machines during daylight hours and a coffee bar that I didn’t get a chance to visit but that everyone raves about. Salome and Nelson were both very friendly.

Negative: I actually enjoyed my stay and plan to come back! The positives were very positive! But I need to warn others that this is just not what is advertised. If you’re a nervous traveller, you might want to check the reviews for Marine and the other various places owned by the same people as it seems they use one booking channel and then allocate rooms wherever. We booked in Panatina Hills Apts so followed Google maps. That building was still under construction. After trying a few different places, someone recognised the photos as Marine Apts so we went there. No signage there either but we found the Equinox building pictured on the site. For standard studio, bathroom and aircon as described. But that was it. No cooking facilities at all, no TV, no washing machine in the unit, definitely no soundproofing (loud music into early hours every day throughout the week), and no restaurant. Internet patchy. I didn’t need most of these things – although I was annoyed about lack of kitchen because I had deliberately picked somewhere with kitchen for a week – but it’s just not what we booked. Raising the issues about location and room facilities achieved nothing as we’d paid before seeing the rooms. If they just edited the advert to match reality, and put signs up so that people know where they are staying, this is a reasonable enough place and a great location for many. Without this, it all just feels shady.
