Negative: The hotel is in a pristine location with stunning views of Kolsay lake. It would also provide amazing views of the clear night sky, if only they didn't leave on the array of floodlights on the roof of the restaurant all night. Please do your guests a favour and switch off all un-necessary lighting so that we can fully enjoy the location.

Positive: Excellent view of Kolsay lake, our internet connection works well. The room is comfy

Negative: Rude terrible annoying staff working at the restaurant, breakfast was not prepared on time. Room curtain malfunction.

Positive: The location on the slope of Kolsay Lake with the panoramic view over the lake is exceptional. The chalet we got was the most expensive and brand new. The restaurant with panoramic terrace is very beautiful. You can see that the personnel is trying to be an exceptional eco boutique hotel despite the language barrier (which by other foreigners can be perceived as rudeness :) ). Joe Malone in the bathroom is original ;)

Negative: The personnel should be better trained to deliver exceptional service. Also cleaning standards should be upgraded (for example, the panoramic window had hand marks from the previous guest, which is very noticeable when the sun is shining in the window). As it is a chalet, they don’t do cleaning during the stay, so you should maintain cleanliness of the place on your own. Also the windows can’t be open, and the only way to ventilate the room is to keep the door open :)

Positive: The views at Pana Kolsay are absolutely breathtaking — the lake and surrounding mountains are a dream, especially at sunrise and sunset. The off-road journey takes about 20 minutes, but once you arrive, the stay itself is clean, thoughtfully designed, and stocked with high-end essentials like Jo Malone and a Dyson hair dryer, which added a nice touch of luxury. The best part was waking up early and taking a walk around the lake — the morning atmosphere is calm and absolutely magical. But do note: temperatures drop to around 15°C at night, so be sure to bring a jacket. Overall, while the views and setting are unbeatable, the lack of included activities, poor Wi-Fi, and limited service make it hard to justify the high price point. Ideal for a one-night nature escape — just manage your expectations and plan ahead.

Negative: However, for the top-tier price we paid, the experience didn’t quite meet expectations. First, there are cheaper Pana room options that aren’t listed on popular booking platforms — so you might be paying a premium unnecessarily if you don’t book directly. Also, the service fell short. Even though we stayed in one of the most expensive units, the Wi-Fi was not set up in advance. We had to request for a better connection after check-in, and it took quite a while for staff to bring the router. Even then, the connection was slow and unstable — not enough to stream Netflix or work reliably, which made evenings in the room frustrating since there are no on-site activities offered after sunset.

Positive: Amazing location and the rooms are in excellent conditions - everything is clean and nothing is missing! It was very warm inside but the temperature was adjusted upon request. Unfortunately, the restaurant was missing a lot of dishes due to the winter season though.

Negative: The check-in was a bit messy as we weren't notified in advance that the road to the hotel is not passable during winter and that we will be picked up at a completely different location by the driver. Knowing about this in advance would save us time and nerves as we didn't have proper internet connection on spot.

Summary: Despite some hiccups at the arrival, the stay was pleasant and the location is fantastic!
