Positive: Raphael was amazingly helpful. Drove us and our luggage into the walled city. On arrival he showed us fruit, milk, bread, ham and cheese that he had bought for us. NO ONE else has ever done that. Thankyou so much Raphael.

Positive: We were surprised by the spacious and well-equipped apartment and the huge garden. The host was super kind, he took care of every detail that we needed, from breakfast to getting to know the local ginja drinking tradition. The apartment itself is decorated in a traditional style and its location within the village gives a feeling of returning to the Middle Ages.

Summary: A very special place to stay. We loved it so much!

Positive: Amazing house. A lot of space and well equipped. Sparkling clean (never stayed in such a clean place😁). House had everything you need for the stay. There was no bad/old house smell or damp, which is usually hard to avoid in medieval houses, it smells like in new house! Nicely decorated with a lot of tasty details and history of the house which adds an extra charm. And of course we must mention host Rafael, such a lovely, polite person! Óbidos really nice especially in the evenings when tourists are gone.

Negative: Nothing, except that we had to leave this beautiful place and also that cannot rate more than 10 points 😊

Positive: I could write a book on all the things i liked. Great location. The house is quiet, charming, and comfortable. Had a fully equipped kitchen with eggs, bread, cheese, croissants, coffee and milk all for our use. Great tv and Wi-Fi. The terraced back yard is wonderful. It is very deep with a fountain, table, chairs and privacy. Everything you need to relax and let the birds serenade you…. And they really do. There is a rooster next door who loves to crow but he just adds to the ambiance. Rafael is a gem. He is such a nice person and so accommodating. Very responsive through WhatsApp. He helped us get our car to convenient, free parking. He then used his car to get our luggage to the house. And at the end of our stay drove us and our luggage back to our car. He suggested restaurants. Rafael took us on a tour of the house and answered all of our questions. Rafael is a 10++++. I know we were in Portugal, but Rafael gave us the name of a great Italian restaurant…12 Apostles. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss it. If you think you’ll like Óbidos during the day, it shines at night when the crowds are gone.

Negative: Obviously nothing.

Positive: We cooked our own breakfast in the well equipped kitchen. The house was charming and very comfortable. It is within the castle walls so handy for exploring the medieval city. Our host secured a parking lot outside the walls and drove us through the narrow streets to our stay.

Negative: We enjoyed the whole experience.

Positive: Love the location! Inside the wall. You're right in the heart of the action. The house is full of nostalgia! Its a full house. 3bedrooms 2baths. Perfect even for just my husband and I. Full kitchen. Everything you need to feel at home in Obidos! Rafael is there for you from the beginning. Hes super nice amd accomodating. We hope to return on day. Dont hesitate for a minute.

Positive: We wanted an authentic experience while staying in Obidos and this house was perfect. Rafael was so helpful picking us and our luggage up outside the city wall. You must have a resident permit to park inside and the entry gate is so narrow we would have never made it! The house is so charming and historic, yet updated and comfortable for a family. The location is perfect for exploring Obidos. Rafael provided excellent suggestions for restaurants, sites to enjoy in Obidos, the best nearby beaches and other towns nearby. He is the perfect host and provides you with an experience you won’t forget.

Positive: This is a gorgeous traditional house in the heart of Óbidos. Very comfortable rooms and lovely touches - fresh fruit, eggs, ham and cheese for breakfast were a welcome surprise! Only locals can drive in obidos so the owner Rafael met us at an outdoor carpark and drove us (and our bags) to the property which was incredibly helpful and gave us lots of tips on local restaurants and things to do. He also picked us up and dropped us back to our car when we left even though it was early on a Saturday morning. Fabulous hospitality, would highly recommend!

Positive: Beautiful traditional Portuguese home, bigger than expected, perfect base for visiting this incredible medieval village, plus easy parking only 7min walk away.

Negative: Nothing, it’s not flashy & modern, as originally built in 1700, if that’s what you desire, it may not be for you. If I had to be find something to improve on, perhaps the patio in the lovely garden could do with a jet wash. That is all. It’s a magical place.😎
