Positive: Our host Rafael started our trip by truly sharing Portuguese warmth, thinking of our every need and sharing his family and house story. It made this a very personal and authentic experience. He picked us up and transported our bags and us from the parking lot. So awesome! The kitchen had all we needed and he consideratey left us some breakfast treats. The kids loved it and we all thought he was THE BEST! :) The 7 year said he never thought he would stay in a real house by a castle! The beds were comfortable. The garden patio was great for hanging out when it rained, as it was covered. Don't miss the Obidos swing with great city view outside the back garden door and up a few steps. An absolutely charming stay! Thanks, Rafael!

Positive: We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful property in the charming town of Óbidos. Raphael is an exceptional host who truly goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. His personalised approach offers far more than just accommodation - we felt immersed in an authentic Portuguese experience. Hearing about the history of the property and the surrounding area from someone so passionate and knowledgeable made our stay even more special. The house itself is delightful - spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. Although we stayed for only two nights, we would happily have stayed much longer. Raphael very kindly provided basic kitchen staples, which were greatly appreciated. He was also incredibly helpful with transport, collecting us from the train station, taking us to the house, and then ensuring we made our early train on departure day. We truly cannot recommend this property highly enough. If we could give more than ten stars, we absolutely would.

Positive: The AMAZING host Rafael! He picked us up from the bus stop and drove us to the house. He left us food so we didn’t need to go to the shop! He gave us recommendations and he drove us to our bus in Caldas da Rainha when we left! Outstanding host!! The outside area was fabulous too for coffee in the sun!

Positive: Great host - came and collected our bags from the car and drove us to the house. Walked us through and explained everything. Great location - within the village walls. Big house and huge backyard.

Negative: No fault of the host, however the neighbors have a couple roosters that did not stop from 3:30am onwards.

Positive: Raphael was amazingly helpful. Drove us and our luggage into the walled city. On arrival he showed us fruit, milk, bread, ham and cheese that he had bought for us. NO ONE else has ever done that. Thankyou so much Raphael.

Positive: We were surprised by the spacious and well-equipped apartment and the huge garden. The host was super kind, he took care of every detail that we needed, from breakfast to getting to know the local ginja drinking tradition. The apartment itself is decorated in a traditional style and its location within the village gives a feeling of returning to the Middle Ages.

Positive: Amazing house. A lot of space and well equipped. Sparkling clean (never stayed in such a clean place😁). House had everything you need for the stay. There was no bad/old house smell or damp, which is usually hard to avoid in medieval houses, it smells like in new house! Nicely decorated with a lot of tasty details and history of the house which adds an extra charm. And of course we must mention host Rafael, such a lovely, polite person! Óbidos really nice especially in the evenings when tourists are gone.

Negative: Nothing, except that we had to leave this beautiful place and also that cannot rate more than 10 points 😊

Positive: I could write a book on all the things i liked. Great location. The house is quiet, charming, and comfortable. Had a fully equipped kitchen with eggs, bread, cheese, croissants, coffee and milk all for our use. Great tv and Wi-Fi. The terraced back yard is wonderful. It is very deep with a fountain, table, chairs and privacy. Everything you need to relax and let the birds serenade you…. And they really do. There is a rooster next door who loves to crow but he just adds to the ambiance. Rafael is a gem. He is such a nice person and so accommodating. Very responsive through WhatsApp. He helped us get our car to convenient, free parking. He then used his car to get our luggage to the house. And at the end of our stay drove us and our luggage back to our car. He suggested restaurants. Rafael took us on a tour of the house and answered all of our questions. Rafael is a 10++++. I know we were in Portugal, but Rafael gave us the name of a great Italian restaurant…12 Apostles. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss it. If you think you’ll like Óbidos during the day, it shines at night when the crowds are gone.

Negative: Obviously nothing.

Positive: We cooked our own breakfast in the well equipped kitchen. The house was charming and very comfortable. It is within the castle walls so handy for exploring the medieval city. Our host secured a parking lot outside the walls and drove us through the narrow streets to our stay.
