Positive: Friendly staff, we arrived late for check in and missed last food orders but the lovely chef made us food

Negative: Needs work, updating, redecorating, replacing furniture, no hand rails to get in and out of the shower in the bath, the noise of the kitchen fans, the TV too small for the room and in the wrong place, should be on the wall opposite the bed instead of a picture

Summary: Lovely staff, loved Angela’s steak but the room was disappointing

Negative: I have never before been asked to provide a photo ID or pay £100 deposit in case I trashed the room or behaved violently or abusively nor to sign a statement confirming that i understood this. The receptionist did not seem aware that this was unusual when I, and a couple of other guests, said they found it strange. The only wifi available is in the noisy bar and it is not conducive to work. THe reecptionist said it was supposed to be availble in the rooms but it never works and she was right! Breakfast was not available until 8.30 on a weekday so I had to leave without it.
