Positive: We had a lovely stay overall. The host was incredibly kind, welcoming, and made us feel at home. The breakfast was nice, and the place itself had a charming atmosphere.
Negative: However, the room was advertised for three people, and unfortunately it was far too small for that. It honestly felt more suitable for one person. Only one of us could stand up at a time, and because of the low sloped ceiling we kept hitting our heads throughout our stay—we all ended up with a few bumps and bruises. Since the room was directly under the roof, it also became very hot. If you’re traveling alone, this room might be fine. But for three people, it was simply too cramped and, considering the price, not good value for money. The wonderful host made the experience much better, but I think the room should not be advertised for three guests.
Summary: Would definitely not recommend the room for three people under the roof :)

Positive: You think the reviews are glowing? They are understated. Hale and her family have been in hospitality for generations. This beautiful property belonged to her grandfather, himself a decorated gastronome, and you can feel that lineage everywhere; in the quiet details, the thoughtful restoration, and the effortless grace with which everything is done. Hale herself has spent a distinguished career serving celebrities and world leaders. You can sense that level of excellence in every nook and cranny of this authentic and carefully restored home. As I was leaving, Hale reminded me that if I left a review, I mustn’t forget to mention that she had made a mistake with my booking. I actually had to stop and think about what she was talking about. She had resolved the issue so completely, and with such grace, that I had long since forgotten it. And somehow, even in insisting that I remember her mistake, she only made me admire her more. What kind of person does that? Most of us hope our mistakes go unnoticed. Hale wanted me to remember hers. Not because she owed me anything, but because she is honest. And somehow, even in reminding me of her mistake, she turned it into yet another reason to adore her. From arrival to departure, the service is defined by warmth, care, privacy, and that rare kind of understated attentiveness that makes you wonder, “Do I deserve people being this kind and accommodating to me?” The answer, it turns out, is yes. Staying here doesn’t feel like checking into a bed and breakfast. It feels like being welcomed into a family tradition. One refined over generations and offered with genuine joy. It’s lovely. And so are they. Book it.
Summary: A Family Tradition

Positive: I had a thoroughly pleasant stay and everything was excellent. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. I would especially like to highlight the breakfast – it was absolutely delicious, very well-balanced, and offered a great variety of options. You can really tell that care is put into both quality and selection. Everyone was consistently friendly, helpful, and extremely accommodating. I felt welcome and well taken care of at all times. I can highly recommend this place and would gladly return!
Summary: Warm and welcoming accomodation, great breakfast!

Positive: A very lovely, cozy, and quiet place to relax. Hale and her family welcomed us so warmly into their home. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay. We also had a terrace and a kitchen, which we shared with the guests from the neighboring room. Another great bonus was that we could use the washing machine for a small fee. Hale told us about the island and the history of the house, and gave us great recommendations about nearby beaches. She was always available and ready to help, and we truly felt her care throughout our entire stay. I highly recommend staying with her if you’re planning a trip to Büyükada. We’ll definitely come back to Hale when we return to Turkey. Thank you, dear Hale, for creating such a wonderful atmosphere during our vacation in your home!

Positive: I stayed with my 9 y/o son in the garden room for a few days. The owner, Ms. Hale, showed us all the rooms, and we chose the garden room among others. She was so kind, helpful, and informative during our stay. We had our own small garden area where we ate and relaxed. The entrance was separated. Actually, we felt quite safe in the area and never locked the door. It was fully open even at night, while we were sleeping. I enjoyed sweeping and washing the garden area in the mornings before breakfast. We used the common kitchen, located upstairs, to prepare breakfast and dinner. For lunch, we used beach restaurants. There are three beaches close by. Nizam Beach is closest (a few minutes). It has sunbeds, showers, food service, but no toilets. We tried the national park's wild beaches. It was a few minutes uphill. We found a private bay there. It was nice, but not good for swimming (too wild and rocky). Finally tried Yigitali beach, the most organized one. It has everything, including lockers and free boat shuttle service to downtown. Overall, the cost/benefit ratio was so good. We have enjoyed our stay so much and recommend the place to all travellers.
Negative: The room is a little small, but it was our choice. There are bigger rooms if you like. There was no AC in our room, but Ms. Hale provided us with a cooler, so the temperature was not a problem. Since it is an island and there are forests all around, mosquitoes were everywhere. We were bitten by them all day and night. So come prepared with a mosquito repellent spray. Keep the room door with the mosquito net closed to be free of mosquitoes at night. Public buses are way too expensive (2€). And it is even 4€ if you use credit card directly. So you should buy an Istanbul card for your transportation to and within the island.
Summary: Nice and relaxing stay at the islands
