Opo Villa is full of history. It’s now over 100 years old having been built in the early 1900’s and has been the home for 4 generations of the Andrewes family. It was one of the earlier homes of the area. Largely untouched it offers a traditional bach atmosphere which is right in the centre of Opononi with easy walking to the wharf (fishing), directly across the road from the beach and next door to the Landing Café, I Site (Information Centre) and 4 square.
Please note linen is provided by request at an extra charge of $25 per person - provided in this are 2 x sheets, 1 x pillowcase, 1 x towel, 1 x facecloth.

Summary: As advertised, this is a nice big property in a terrific location that is very run down. If space and location are important, then it's a terrific place to stay. We had a lovely holiday here with children and their grandparents. The kitchen is very well equipped.

Summary: Fantastic location. Lovely old villa with a view of the water. The villa was full of character and charm but definitely needs some restoration work and general maintenance as you would expect from a villa of this age. There was fast efficient communication from the host.

Summary: This big old Villa is a delight to stay in. It has all the amenities necessary for a relaxing holiday, including the Opononi Hotel, the Fish & Chip Shop, Thai Cafe, Four Square, Opononi Wharfe all 3 minutes away. The Beach is just across the road making the Opo Villa one of my favourite places to stay. It just oozes charm from a bygone Era.

Summary: The TV not working, the lazy boy chair broken in first room to left with the single beds. Tripped over the chair at night. The chair close to bathroom is totally broken. Otherwise a joyful stay. Loved the old Villa.

Summary: This is a very old villa which would've been a pristine home in its heyday. The furniture is original, as are carpets and wallpapers, and for us - a group with the oldest member a 90yr old and the others all over 45+ - it was an easy and comfortable place too stay while we attended local attractions and a 70th birthday nearby. Location in Opo is unbeatable! You'll find the driveway behind THE TOI BOX art gallery (a small black prefab building on the driveway to the i-site). It's a typical bach, meaning it is not state of the art and modern but has everything to meet your basic needs. Enjoyed the stay and having somewhere big enough for all of us to be together. Thank you!
