Positive: The hotel has a great onsen to relax. And the room was really large and in japanese style.

Negative: The design on the corridors looks cheaper than the rooms and the onsen are. You will need a car or the free shuttle service to reach this hotel.

Positive: It's a traditional ryokan with onsen, restorant, shop and beer bar in the same building. It was calm and snowing.

Negative: Onsen is outdated. The facility is a bit more expensive comparing to other ryokans in Japan. It is away from the city and train station so taxi is needed to transfer. Check in as of 15:00 is a bit too late.

Positive: We liked the onsen very much. The breakfast was good but quite expensive. The hotel staff very kindly picked us up in Kakunodate when we needed a lift back.

Negative: The hotel shuttle bus should be booked three days in advance, which we had misunderstood. It is necessary to take a taxi to and from Kakunodate. The hotel also needs a bit of renovation.

Positive: LOVED the breakfast spread and the access to onsen. I went at an early hour and it was very peaceful. We were able to see sakura from the window of our room. We only stayed one day but enjoyed our stay!

Negative: 1. No Dishwasher soap for dishwasher machine 2. Sliding door from lounge to patio extremely difficult to open and close. 3. Tv in lounge randomly goes off 4. Main bathroom shower outlet needs a good clean 5. When it rains the patio floods....outlets must be blocked somewhere
