Summary: This is a lovely property in a beautiful location. If you want peace and quiet and amazing views then this is the place for you. Carla and Franco are extremely helpful and the apartment contains everything you might need including a well equipped kitchen. There was a generous welcome pack including supper for the day we arrived and a bottle of very nice wine. The nearest town, Marsciano, is an easy 10 minute drive and has many supermarkets, restaurants etc. We highly recommend the restaurant Hosteria Mattta.

Summary: We stayed in Carla and Franco's little paradise for a week during the heatwave across Europe this summer. Carla and Franco were there to meet us after our long journey and had even provided us with supper and breakfast on our first night. Their home is traditional and rustic and perfect. The gardens are just stunning and the pool just a few metres away from the house is lovely. There are many places to sit around the property to enjoy the sun/shade and enjoy the scenery, the garden is buzzing with life, beautiful butterflies and little lizards. Marciano is a short drive and offers all the facilities of a small town eg supermarket and restaurants and the property itself is well placed to explore the delights of Umbria. It is so very peaceful and for us the ideal holiday. Thank you Carla and Franco for sharing your piece of paradise.

Summary: We couldn’t have asked for a better first experience of Italy. It was everything we hoped for and more. It was perfect just to relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the long views across the beautiful Umbrian countryside, admire Carla and Franco’s garden, watch the butterflies and listen to the humming of the insects. It was the most relaxing and comfortable property we have stayed in and we returned home feeling happy and enriched. There were so many interesting places to visit nearby and with an early start one morning, we were also able to enjoy a day in Florence. Umbria has some beautiful national and regional parks which also have great cycling trails suited to all abilities. We look forward to going again and highly recommend this lovely place.

Summary: Our fourth visit to the wonderful countryside home of Carla and Franco and it just gets better every time. The house is a few km from Marsciano, a lively town with everything you could ever need. Marsciano itself is just a few minutes drive from the fast dual carriageway running down from Perugia to Terni, which makes travel very easy. But the real attraction is the opportunity to share the absolute beauty of the panoramic scenery, the generosity and kindness of our hosts, the elegance of a lovingly crafted home. The house itself is of a very high standard; traditional materials but with a high level of comfort. The outlook is idyllic and the garden is Carla’s baby....we’ve watched the garden grow and develop over the years and it is a true oasis of calm. Carla and Franco produce their own olive oil and grow many organic vegetables, which you will be able to taste. On arrival there is a generous basket of local goods and wine, plus a home made dish of lasagne or something similar. The pool is lovely and a real treat not to have to share it with hordes of other families. Umbria itself is a delight. Besides the well known towns of Perugia, Orvieto, Assisi, there are so many smaller towns worthy of discovery...Todi, Montefalco, Trevi, Spoleto. Almost every hill has a medieval castle or village to wander round. Not far away is Lake Trasimeno, with the fortified town of Castiglione del Lago and the hill top Panicale. Even though this was our fourth stay, we still had plenty of new things to discover.

Summary: Our trip to Casa Paradiso was quite simply wonderful from start to finish. We have stayed in many self catering cottages and villas and this has to rank among the top. As other reviewers have suggested, the setting is out of this world! Set in the Umbrian hills with soothing breezes in the hot summer sun and spectacular views. The accomodation was lovely with great facilities and a simple walk to the swimming pool which is wonderful for a dip at any time. Shutters keep the inside nice and cool and dark at night time - although you may want to keep them open to take in the views of the sunrises, sunsets or nightscape! The gardens are beautiful and one of the lovely memories will be the constant sight of butterflies fluttering across the garden. The kitchen was superbly equipped with everything you could possibly need. The WiFi was also great to have, especially for the children. There are lots of beautiful sights to see with hilltop villages and towns throughout the region. Larger attractions like Assisi, Orvieto, Perugia and Todi are all within easy reach as the Autostrada is about 15 minutes away. There is a good swimming pool for the children in nearby Marsciano and a great waterpark in Tavernelle (although you would struggle to leave the luxury of the casa swimming pool.) Activopark in the mountains is about 45 minutes away and is really worth the trip for the children. It has limited opening hours around the weekend but it was great value and the local town there is very pretty. Rome is also easily accessible for the day. We travelled an hour to a local town -Orte- and got the train which was cheap and dependable. The family loved the trip. However. above all, the outstanding characteristic about this property is the welcome from Carla and Franco. They were wonderful from start to finish. They welcomed us with a beautiful homemade lasagne and local wine and had a selection of local products including cereal for the children. The children loved them and my daughter was always practicing Italian to speak to Carla when she saw her. It was such a wonderful welcome and they made the stay simply amazing. Summary: We arrived to a warm welcome from Carla and Franco with a lovely vegetable lasagne and wine laid on for supper. It couldn't have been a better start to our holiday. The apartment was part of a traditional Umbrian rural house with chestnut beams and terracotta floors and ceilings and was very clean and cosy. Outside, the garden was a delight, obviously a passion of Carla's. It was a pleasure to be sat out eating alfresco in amongst a riot of colour during the day and scent filled evenings drinking wine and watching the fire flies going about their business. The swimming pool was of a decent length and was ideal for spending a lot of time around doing nothing but relaxing. A large sun shade would have been welcome though during the hotter parts of the day and possibly some slightly more comfortable sun loungers though. We didn't do much sightseeing having lived in Umbria/ Tuscany some years previously, however the area is well situated for day visits out and about. Eating out, it would have been nice to have been able to walk to a pizzeria /bar and although this is not a criticism, it is something worth noting if you like to do that kind of thing on holiday. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone who likes it nice and quiet! Thank you Carla and Franco.

Summary: We very much enjoyed the beauty and peace of Carla and Franco's Umbrian retreat. We were lucky with weather and were able to enjoy the beautiful and clean pool and yet it was cool enough to take long walks and sleep comfortably. The place is cozy and authentic and so deeply peaceful. Carla and Franco are as wonderful as everyone describes. They are kind, helpful, responsive and just lovely people. If you are looking for a remote country retreat then this is ideal. There are plenty of places to visit within 30-60 minutes. We didn't run out of things to do in our six days. A wonderful stay.

Summary: This is honestly the most stunning villa we've ever been to. Truly breathtaking views and garden, the pool was huge and to die for, and Carla and Franco were the perfect hosts. There are many wonderful places to visit in the local area, but quite honestly we just lazed by the pool all day and cooked delicious local food - absolute heaven. If you can peel yourself away from the house for the evening, we would highly recommend driving to Serpillo in Torre del colle. Without doubt the most amazing food I've had in Italy and in the most magical setting. Once again, thank you so much Carla and Franco for being the perfect hosts. Casa Paradiso really is paradise!

Summary: If you want to get away from it all and relax in perfect surroundings,eat great food,visit idyllic towns and villages then this is the place for you. The hosts Carla and Franco are lovely and supply everything you may need upon your arrival even a lovely Lasagna which my boys devoured. One week here and we all felt totally recharged. This place is not for everyone but if you love Italy and the tranquillity of the countryside I'm sure you will love this place. If not then you don't belong in Italy.
