Positive: The location is idyllic; if you like characterful, old inns with quaint bedrooms and creaky floorboards in a peaceful rural setting, this is the place for you. A special mention for Angel who, when I reported the drain in our shower was backing up, had us moved into another room in less than 10 minutes. She acted with commendable speed and efficiency, ensuring we were comfortably established in our new room before attending to reporting the fault. The steak and ale pie was good too.

Negative: Room to small! Would be better as a single. Bathroom tiny - my husband complained that if he stood to use the toilet his bum rested in the sink. The sink was dirty with a brown ring around the waste pipe. Got the impression that you tried to squeeze in more rooms than the building warrants. Cleanliness and presentation not brilliant - towel and bedding clean but towels appeared to have been thrown onto shelf and pillows looked as though someone had just been lying on them. The beds were comfortable. Area designated for kettle etc too small. Unable to reach sockets as behind bed - very small bedside table - unable to open window fully due to security lock. Windows covered in cobwebs.

Summary: Comfortable beds - room too small and not very clean or well presented. It’s a great pub however.

Positive: Buffet Bar Reasonably Stocked, Friendly and efficient Staff and a well cooked breakfast.

Negative: Room very hot and noisy because of customers below window becoming under the influence and rowdy Air Conditioning would of been better

Positive: Beautiful old pub. Amazing location. Food very good but no one collected plates when finished. During lunch service. Left outside for ages which encouraged the wasps. Evening was better. Happy to return.
