Positive: The location, facilities, the kind and attentive service were all exceptional. This is one of the very best accommodation options we have found in Japan over many trips to Japan over the years. The Japanese style breakfasts were very good. Highly recommended.
Negative: Nothing not to like.

Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Stunning, authentic and clean room(s), kind and understanding staff who spoke to me slowly in Japanese to assist with checkin, and rules were reiterated in English on documents anyway despite Matsue being relatively rural. Absolutely beautiful view at both night and in the morning, I was shocked! Onsen came free with the stay. Zero complaints, the best stay of our trip around Japan.
Negative: I wish that the obligatory hotel fees are built into the cost on booking.com, I know to expect them however it's hard to know *how much* extra they will be, it would be good if they were upfront.
Summary: Beautiful authentic Japanese hotel experience in a relatively rural area.
